Bush: New Jobs Data 'Evidence Of Economic Resurgence'
Edited on Fri Apr-07-06 09:39 AM by AGENDA21
NEW YORK -(Dow Jones)- U.S. President George Bush Friday said that data showing the unemployment rate fell to its lowest level since July 2001 is " evidence of an economic resurgence that is strong, broad and benefitting all Americans."

Bush, in a statement televised from the White House, attributed the gains in employment and the economy overall to his administration's "pro-growth economic policies," especially tax cuts.

"Tax relief has done exactly what it was designed to do," Bush said. "It's created jobs and growth for the American people."

The president once again called on Congress to make the tax cuts permanent, adding that it needs to restrain spending "so we can stay on track to cut the deficit in half by 2009."

Full of laughs on this one, oh boy.

Six years after the big tax cuts, we finally see a modest uptick in job growth? THAT'S proof that his tax cuts work?

He tells Congress to "restrain spending" when HE submits the budget, and HE's never vetoed a single bill?

2. I got one word for ya, Bushie:
Bullshit.

Insourcing and outsourcing is killing the middle class. Bush invites illegals over to our country to depress U.S. wages and to usurp the jobs that Americas WILL DO and DO do. Story after story around here on how people can't find jobs.

BULL...SHIT.

3. We need the Economists to stand up and tell the truth!
Bush is painting an illusion of a healthy economy and then taking credit for it. First**, it's not a healthy economy (and barely better than one in recession; and is balancing on the head of a pin--with massive debt, potential currency collapse, and dependency on real estate bubble). Second**, almost all the jobs created are due to increased goverment (deficit) spending, and any seeming robustness is merely a reflection of the inflated real estate prices/market AND NOT due in any significant way to his seriously misguided, extremely harmful Tax Cuts.

5. Everthing's peachy
I'm a Delphi retiree, so I'm a bit of a hard sell on this gangbuster outlook.
On the bright side, maybe I can get two or three of these new jobs after my benefits are revoked and work until I die.

They can ID my decrepit corpse by my name tag.
