Bush takes heat down South
http://www.suntimes.com/output/news/cst-nws-bush07.html

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- In friendly territory, President Bush still found himself on the defensive Thursday over the Iraq war, high gas prices, the federal deficit and anti-terrorism measures. One man bluntly told Bush he should be ashamed. snip

''I'm not your favorite guy,'' Bush said, as the man who later identified himself as Harry Taylor began reeling off grievances.

Taylor cited Bush's opposition, in most cases, to a woman's right to an abortion, his environmental stances, his support for holding terrorism suspects without charges, and his authorization of tapping phones without warrants.

''In my lifetime, I have never felt more ashamed of, or more frightened by my leadership in Washington, including the presidency, or the Senate,'' said Taylor, a 61-year-old commercial real estate broker.

2. ''I'm not your favorite guy,''
As if it was simple matter of not liking him.

Totally dismissive of everything Mr Taylor said. An attempt to marginalize Mr. Taylor by spinning his legitimate grievances and concerns as a case of personal dislike.

What arrogance.

4. I didn't think it was posible, but it seems to me that the lower
Bush's poll #'s go, the cockier he appears to be, and his smirk (or grimace) is more pronounced. Is it overcompensation for what he percieves to be an assault on his over-inflated ego?

7. Probably is
Cause he does seem like he's no longer trying to hide his contempt for people...he used to have a better control of it...even though it still showed to anyone paying attention. It's far more obvious now though.

6. Even Texas's idiot Governor Goodhair was affected by the storms.
FEMA stiffed Texans after Hurricane Rita. Damage was not as extensive as Katrina's, but bad enough for those affected. Perry made a complaint.

Then, Bush said that the Military will step in immediately when disaster occurs. Perry wants the military to wait until invited by the locals.

Usually, Perry can be counted on to swallow Bush's bullshit whole.
