Bush** has given aid and comfort to the enemies of...
the United States.

He has committed treason by the standard set in the Constitution.

1. Frankly I hate the phrase "given aid and comfort"
It's so vague, isn't it?

3. Only on RW talk shows.
It's a term of art familiar to the founding fathers. It means to give material support to the enemy. In other words givng food, weapons, gas or medical aid to an enemy is just as bad as pulling the trigger yourself.

5. That seems to be a legal definition, but rhetorically it's used
a lot, mostly by right wingers, and it's just a crapper isn't it.

Giving aid and comfort to our enemies is treason. Treason is a crime punishable by death. Anytime anybody uses that to refer to a political enemey they are, at least in part, suggesting their political opponents be put to death. They might not have thought it all the way though, of course, but it's somewhat implicit in the phrase itself.

2. As if there was a difference...
between * and enemies of the U.S. and/or it's Constitution.

4. hmmmmm
Outing an American CIA Agent deeply undercover is an Act that would make Benedict Arnold gush with envy.

That's probably bigger on the treason scale than giving away nuclear secrets.

This makes Bush in the same category as Aldrich Ames, the double agent that fed spy secrets to the Ruskies and indirectly caused the deaths of 10 or 20 guys working for our side, yes?
