If I was Harry Taylor
I would tell everyone that I was a Rove plant at the Bush speech. When people call me at my real estate office, I would tell them that Rove and Bush asked me to question Bush the way that I did.

People that support me would see Rove and Bush as propagandist.
People that support Bush would be less inclined to put a bullet in my head.

1. Do you think him getting assassinated is really a possibility?
I'd be more worried about getting my car keyed.

3. I fear his suicide before the 2008 election
:tinfoilhat:

I would fear that my commercial real estate practice would be (easily) destroyed.

It is just as easy to kill someone as it is to key a car.

18. Just as easy eh?
Well I don't buy that, but absent any scientific proof, I guess there's no way to know whether killing someone is as easy as it is to key a car. Unless we could do some sort of controlled experiment - be hard to get volunteers though. Nobody wants to get their car keyed.

When you put that tin-foil hat icon at the top, is that invitation to laugh off anything you say or is it "I know this sounds kooky but . . . "

2. Well, maybe he'd just be telling the truth if he did say that.
I don't put anything past these guys anymore. Normally, people are screened very thoroughly, and perhaps this is to offset the perception that all Bush speeches are staged productions, with actors robots zombies only pre-screened people admitted.

If he isn't in on it, I would be very concerned about my future well being if I were him... :(

And isn't that a sad statement about America today?

12. I read your posts and thank you for your local flavor to this story
:yourock:

He sells commercial real estate, right? I would let a local real estate mogul in to see w. if I was in charge of security (selling R.E. would be good enough to pass a "loyalty oath").

Why would he say this stuff to w.? Won't it hurt his business? I am very glad that he said it. Now I am afraid for him.

4. I think even conservatives admire Taylor's courage
That took a lot of guts to stand up and criticize a President publically to his face in front of a hostile audience, and I think even conservatives recognize that. I'd be willing to bet he's a minor celebrity in Charlotte today. (Still, if I were him, I'd stay out of dark alleys for a few weeks!)

10. Mecklenburg county where Charlotte is located is very
blue, having said that, the local talk shows are crap, Jason Lewis and Keith Larson. The tv news was just excited that Charlotte got some publicity, they are usually whoring for it anyway.

9. It's a pretty sad state of affairs when a man asks the President
of the United States a tough question and it's a big enough deal to make network news. Does this not prove the man in a bubble theory or what?

15. I wonder why Bush supporters have gotten a reputation
for being unhinged enough to act violently toward critics of their Bushgod. Maybe because of people like that guy who drove his truck through the field of crosses at Camp Casey...or the recent video of Delay supporters beating up an old lady...You just have to wonder why the tough, manly leader of the party of tough manly men needs so much protectin' from the liberal wimps. When Bush is questioned or criticized they feel they have to charge in and rescue him -- apparently they view Bush as Little Nell tied to the railroad tracks by the Snidely Whiplash Liberals.

All Harry did was use his on-camera opportunity to provide us with a Truman Show moment, the rogue extra who manages to momentarily lift back the curtain on our reality show president. But to members of the Bush cult, who have invested so much of their identities in believing the illusion, that's one of the worst crimes possible.
