In their subscribers... I love it when O'Liely talks about the AAR troubles. I think these guys are in much bigger trouble. It looks like JimBob is going to have to tighten his belt a bit.

DU raised it's Qtrly Numbers in under TWO DAYS in Q1 (remember the Valentine's Day Hearts). I attribute this to DU's capturing and reporting of the TRUTH... we have become the true 4th estate, filling the void left wide-open by the media-turned-RW Propaganda machine. The public has caught on (FINALLY) as is clear by Bush's 33% approval ratings.

FR has become a depressing reminder to those who read it that it's really just a bunch of toilet-water kool-aid spewed out from the sewer of Karl Rove's bathroom.

1. Free Republic is interesting.
It's not so much a forum about politics, as it is a GW Bush Fan Club/Hate Group.

7. Amazing! They say we hate America. If I hated America,..

I would try to keep Bush in office, he's doing a good job of destroying the US of A.

Mind if I use it?

5. I can't even figure the thing out
Is it really a message board? What the hell is it? It is impossible to navigate or follow threads. I can never tell if I'm reading posts, sig lines or what. Anyone who donates money to that site has got be so stupid that he could only be a...a...well, a FREEPER!

But I'm sure the admin has a cool new iPod and some hella kicks, and has the rent on his loft paid for.

8. Like honestly?
What DOES the FR money go towards????

We've got the servers and the bandwidth, plus three very fine full time admins on the payroll.

What do they pay for?

RimJob coded it himself.

Don't ever criticize the work of the master! :o

two cans and a length of string or carrier pidgeons.

I'd like to see George Soros bail them out, in the interests of freedom of speech.

6. They've definitely lost people
Edited on Fri Apr-07-06 03:07 PM by Mike Daniels
The threads don't have anywhere near the volume they used to.

Hell, a thread about Wal-Mart carrying Brokeback only generated 63 responses. Posting a topic like that used to be the equivalent of throwing chum overboard to attract sharks.

Nowadays, the American Idol thread draws more response than any thread dealing with a real issue.

I noticed that earlier today and meant to post on it, but, still, I'm glad you pointed out their fundraising problem.

Maybe the economy's not so good for those sunshine patriots.

15. It's hard to donate when your head's exploded.
Between the Bush deficits, the Iraq nation-building quagmire, the Dubai ports deal, and Bush's failed guest-worker proposal, about half of the freeper base is feeling mighty disaffected right now. Only the true-blue, die-hard W-humpers are left (along with the usual RNC operatives), and they're mostly not in a position to donate much money to anything, having voted against their own economic best interests in the past several elections.

17. I find FR difficult to use...anyone else?
I don't post there, but have tried to read threads. Perhaps I need to "study" it more, but I find it difficult to follow threads, posts, etc.

All I usually see are one-liners, inane humor, and *pings* and *ping back attcha*-type remarks.

18. They're trying to freep that MSNBC poll about Bush lying
You know, the one where less than 6 percent think he was telling the truth?

They spend so much time purging anyone who disagrees with RimJob I'm amazed they have any members left. Not to mention all the financial hanky panky going on there. Without RNC money, he'd be history.

24. LOL... THEY ONLY HAVE 38 RESPONSES!!!!
In FR's prime, this would have CREATED A MOVEMENT OVER THERE... they would have started an e-mail campaign to BOYCOTT MSNBC and they would have gotten their automated poll-freeping software in HIGH GEAR...

They've given up... Bush. Is. Toast.

26. it could be because the site is so crappy unlike DU
at DU we actually see the results of our contributions. the forum is the most user friendly i have ever used and it just gets better all the time.

freepers contribute but what does the money go towards. it's a shame because i enjoy reading their site sometimes, mostly just for entertainment. but the forum set up is really bad.

does anyone know if JimBob lists what the money goes toward ?

...or was that "EAGLES UP!"? Maybe they should consider putting coin-operated doors on the portapotties. Or re-outfit JimRob's new RV for the purpose...
