What do you think will happen if we start a war in Iran? Will the American public become political again?
What will YOU do? What can WE do?

Our "diplomacy" reminds me of a schoolyard bully "Stop hitting yourself, stop hitting yourself"

2. I'm stumped....
But I think about it a lot. What do you think we should do if Iran attacks us or Israel??? (And, yes, I know all about the Shah--nothing we can do about that now... I'm talking if a nuke comes our/their way...):scared:

7. The Iranians aren't that stupid
Even if they had nuclear weapons, they know that if they fired one at us or Israel, they would be wiped off the map.

9. Seriously, if someone threw a nuke at Isreal
Edited on Fri Apr-07-06 03:19 PM by NCevilDUer
that someone would be glassified within an hour. 15 nukes to take out every major Iranian city, and fifteen left over for the rest of the Muslim world if they objected.

We'd never even have to be involved.

And for us? We don't have 30 nukes. We have 30,000 nukes.

No one is going to try us. Believe me.

ON EDIT:

Welcome to DU. Like the name.

15. I know we did at the peak.
May be a few thousand have been decommissioned by now. Getting pretty old.

But * wants to start making new ones. 150/yr. Saw it in the paper just the other day. Little, tactical nukes, just right for the battlefield, not the big strategic ones.

I guess proliferation is OK if its us doing the proliferating.

16. We'd never have to be involved? Are you kidding?
I have a globe on my desk that says American GI's are right in the middle of Israel and Iran.
How couldn't we get involved?

18. GIs in Israel and Iran?
Edited on Fri Apr-07-06 03:52 PM by NCevilDUer
I didn't think we had any bases in Israel. And we sure as hell don't have any in Iran.

Clarify, please?

Edit:

OK I misinterpreted. GIs situatated between Israel and Iran. That's true. What I was saying was that if Israel was nuked, Israel would deal with it. We'd become their collateral damage.

20. Accept it or not, what happens, happens.
You don't think either side is going to ask our permission, do you?

I don't get your point.

4. The WH has already been accused of provoking terrorism...
and Iran has threatened to execute terrorist acts within the US if the US is hostile.

Iran is China's main source of oil.

China owns trillions of dollars of US treasury bonds which a huge sell off could topple the american economy.

I think Iran is going to get its way knowing the US can only make empty threats.

I'm just surprised they haven't fessed up to the war with Syria yet.

13. Like george says " fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me
fooled me can't get fooled again."

If the US bombs Iran, I think it would create a firestorm through-out the midddle east. I honestly don't think that many people even pay attention to day to day news....I think they are too busy just trying to keep their head above water.

Keeping your head above water is better than not having a head.
