1. Freeper Porn.
As disgusting as it is, most freeps are orgasmic over this.
I cant believe that the USA sanctioned this type of activity!

4. freeper porn - how true. Nauseating but true.
one freeper at work has a new bumper sticker he is proudly sporting "I'ld rather go hunting with Cheney than drinking with Kennedy"

If Kennedy offers him a ride, the right winger will shoot himself in the head?

20. At least he is being honest.......
he doesn't mind being shot by Cheney, this is how violent some Americans have become, and the Neocons are thriving on its success.

I wonder what the ratio would be if someone can do a survey on American public and violence.

36. These photos + videos have also been displayed on Salon since February
They were first posted on February 16.

Most Salon stories drop off the front page within a few days; Salon has kept the link to these photos and videos on its front page since the original posting.

Look on Salon's homepage for this link:

The Abu Ghraib Files

279 photographs and 19 videos from the Army's internal investigation record a harrowing three months of detainee abuse inside the notorious prison

The link will take you to this compendium page:

The 10 galleries of photo and video evidence appear chronologically in the left column, followed by an additional Salon report on prosecutions for abuse and an overview of Pentagon investigations and other resources. The nine essays accompanying the photo galleries were reported and written by Michael Scherer and Mark Benjamin. Photo and video captions were compiled by Page Rockwell. Additional research, reporting and writing for "The Abu Ghraib Files" were contributed by Jeanne Carstensen, Mark Follman, Page Rockwell and Tracy Clark-Flory.

Salon is an excellent resource that requires no registration or subscription, just the viewing of a sponsor's ad to get a free day pass.

7. Congress members saw these a long time ago. SHAME on them!
Congress condones torture. One person spoke up and compared the torture tactics to Nazi brutality and he ended up apologizing the next day.

I am so angry at elected officials who look the other way. All they care about is campaigning so they can keep their cushy jobs. Where is their outrage?

Bush and Cheney and Gonzo still maintain that they need to torture. Why aren't they all calling for impeachment of these sickos?

10. Jack Murtha tried. No one would listen.
Representative Murtha Holds a News Conference on the War in Iraq
Thursday, November 17, 2005; 3:17 PM

SPEAKER: U.S. REPRESENTATIVE JOHN MURTHA (D-PA)

And, most importantly -- this is the most important point -- incidents have increased from 150 a week to over 700 in the last year. Instead of attacks going down over a time when we had additional more troops, attacks have grown dramatically. Since the revolution at Abu Ghraib, American casualties have doubled.

You look at the timeline. You'll see one per day average before Abu Ghraib. After Abu Ghraib, you'll see two a day -- two killed per day because of the dramatic impact that Abu Ghraib had on what we were doing.

And the State Department reported in 2004, right before they quit putting reports out, that indicated a sharp increase in global terrorism.

11. Spokane, could you tell us where these photos come from?
Link, please? Do you know how old these photos are? Where were they taken and when?

I know there is at least one web site that has been posting Iraq atrocities, but can't find it now.

I would send them to Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews, all the news outlets that MIGHT NOT HAVE SEEN THEM.

In peace,

Radio_Lady

24. I saw a couple of them at least a year ago.
Sorry I can't be more specific. The one with the guy punching was someone's sig line; the one with the words written on the guy didn't come out till earlier this year, though.

Actually... I might never have seen the blood one before.

Good enough for me.

It's Sydney with a "Y" -- we have to go outside the United States to see these photos. That's regrettable.

29. I don't understand--
I pay pretty close attention to the news and I've never seen these pictures before. If these pictures exist, why doesn't everybody who watches the news in this country know about them?

How is it even possible that the vast majority (I assume) of the American population is unaware of these pictures?

(I kind of hope that the majority are unaware... otherwise I'm really disappointed that there hasn't been any kind of outcry.)

31. You answered your own question.
"I pay pretty close attention to the news and I've never seen these pictures before."

Think on that, and then think on why people haven't made a huge outcry.

What makes them different from us, what makes what Saddam did to his own people different from what we are doing? Turns out...our soldiers are doing far worse.

Remember this quote "I'm outraged by the outrage being shown" I think it was a famous Senator or Congressman can't remember....but i'm sure someone will.
