The F*d by Bush Ticket 2008?

I see a lot of people who push a variety of candidates (Clinton, Not-Clinton, Clark, Edwards, Warner, Obama, Feingold, etc.) and it strikes me that while all of those might be positive strategic choices, they all lack on thing...ironic charm.

So I'm suggesting a Gore/Kerry ticket. (yes yes I know it would never happen).

Why Gore/Kerry you may ask?

Well becaue Gore was already VP for 8 years and it would be unkind to make him do it again. Also because he won first in 2000, Kerry didn't have his election stolen till 2004. It's only right that he should go second.

But what's the benifit (aside from the double barreled amusement of shoving them both down the Freepers craw at the same time)?

Simple. It appears that our Democratic Candidates have some mysterious weakness when it comes to strategy and the influence of consultants. They get all weak kneed and try and straddle the middle. They avoid harsh words and hide behind Nuance (Maybe Feingold will prove me wrong finally). Gore and Kerry both did this.

And that's the great thing! They now both know better than ANYONE that it doesn't work. All the other candidates would have to learn this lesson. But not Gore and Kerry. They can both come out swinging from the starting line. They know that tepid gets you nothing...and they know how a lack of response to Swiftboating/mediashills is the deathknell of a campaign. So we slap em on the ass and tell em to swing away! No more reservations, they've already been baptized in the fire...they have already been F*d by Bush. They should have no illusions left about NICE or FAIR. They should be hungry viscious mongrel candidates. And the combo would be like nothing we've seen before (except that we have seen them before...but they'd be different)

Well that's the dream anyway.

I could sorta go for it. Only the media would have a field day making fun of the two of them. You're correct however, that this time they've got a lot of ammo on their side too :D

Edited to add: Not that they didn't have lots of ammo in '00 and '04, but now they won't be so afraid to use it.

as long as he speaks out as he currently does. No looser Dem consultants.

Both Gore and Kerry "deserve" the presidency, if such a phrase has any meaning.

6. Obama has to hold a cabinet position

or have an election stolen from him before he can be on this ticket and I honestly hope that never happens to him (though I would love to see him take over as VP once Kerry steps up when Gore retires)

5. Definitely Gore on the top of the ticket

But on the bottom half of the ticket, I'd prefer Clark, Feingold, Conyers, Boxer, or even Hillary Clinton. (I don't want Clinton on top.) My fantasy ticket is Gore/Dean simply because I love them both, but I know that'll never happen. Besides, the good doctor has proven to be far more valuable as the leader of our party.

Also, I totally agree with davidwparker - Gore MUST be himself. No more handlers or advisors telling him how to dress, what to say, etc. He's at his very best when he's true to himself and he speaks from the heart! :-)

they've both been presidential nominees, and it's a matter of pride I'm sure . . .

8. Don't misunderestimate Kerry's need for revenge!

10. see, i see the same. i see a universal message in presenting

these candidates again. they have already been dissed so there is nothing new. they are pissed. they know what to expect. and both have been swinging since playing nice and being fucked. again i say, i see a universal justice in these two. personally though, i would just really like keryr over gore. but i understand what you are saying. i see many many advantages in presenting kerry again
