THIS makes me feel all warm and fuzzy about nuke plant security...
"A Florida energy company has called in the FBI and offered a $100,000 reward to try and find out who drilled a hole in one of its nuclear power stations.

Workers at Florida Power and Light found the small hole when doing pre-start up tests on a reactor at the Turkey Point Unit Three power plant.

It had been drilled - inadvertently or deliberately - into a cooling system pipe for one of its nuclear reactors.

Florida Power has now repaired the damage and plans to restart the unit."

I guess we can add "glow in the dark" to our resume. It makes me glad there isn't a nuke plant close by where I live. This is really odd.

2. and from the BBC no less...
I think I've finally gone over the edge. Everything I read fails to have any impact...just more lunacy in the completely bizarre reality I now consider 'normal'.

3. That's where the melt-down meter was attached.
But Homer unscrewed it to take to Moe's Tavern and show the guys, and forgot to put it back.

And now all they are left with is a hole, and no-one can remember how it got there.

Seriously speaking, it would be much easier for a forgotten screw to fall out and get lost, than for someone to start drilling random holes in the pipes there.

4. Nuke plant security was the reason the hole was found.
I have inside information about the Turkey Point incident that I can't talk about here. But just trust me, plant security at nuke sites is not the problem. Disgruntled craft labor is the problem.

6. we all have problems apparently
"WILL COUNTY, ILLINOIS -- There has been another radioactive gas leak at an Exelon plant, this time in Will County.

It happened Thursday as company officials talked to residents about a similar incident at a plant in Lasalle County in February.

Exelon says the gas turned into water and flowed into a nearby ditch."
