I like Fark. They will smack down a Freeper in a heartbeat. They will call bullshit where they see it and occassionally you'll even find someone to offer a reasoned argument.

I go there about once or twice a day to catch up on the odd bits of news you won't find in the daily paper. There is a FAQ on the left panel somewhere. Yeah..FArQ....

You don't have to "join" anything. And I have no idea why pics would expire, unless you are viewing weeks after they are posted.

Yes, they do have Freep types there. But again....they don't just let them get away with saying shit, they will flame like nobody's business.

They are allowed to disagree, which is refreshing (unlike freepville) and it's not quite like here where although we have some fairly divergent views, the political ones are fairly of a type. (Democratic)
