Now that Bush is known to be the "leaker-in-chief," will he allow himself to be called as a witness in the Libby trial? Bush will now surely be called upon to testify.

Or, will Bush simply pardon Libby before the trial actually begins?

Or, will Libby die under mysterious circumstances, and a "suicide" note be found, saying he couldn't face the prospect of going to prison?

Libby, no doubt pissed after recieving the cold shoulder from the administration after being indicted on perjury and obstruction charges is in the fight of his life. What comes first; freedom and family, or "loyalty" to a president who didn't have the guts to admit the de-classification of a document, and who left this administration's most loyal Bush/Cheney-bot to twist slowly in the wind?

My guess is that many answers depend on what happens in the mid-term elections.

1. Can you be pardoned before your convicted?

If not, then that option is out.

I think you can, because Ford pardoned Nixon before he was technically was found guilty. No one questioned it at the time, but the circumstances are very different today. Then the pardon was seen as an effort to get past the scars of watergate. Today it would be seen as an effort to avoid telling the truth.

Given how the WH is reacting to this new information, they could very well say that Libby was doing what he was told.
