Demonstrations, Petitions and Picketing

Student participation in on-campus demonstrations, petitions or picketing is prohibited unless approved by Liberty University administration. The administration may also prohibit or restrict student participation in demonstrations, petitions or picketing at places other than on campus, where such participation would contradict or otherwise compromise the principles and policies of Liberty University.

Demonstrations, Petitions and Picketing

Student participation in on-campus demonstrations, petitions or picketing is prohibited unless approved by Liberty University administration or the main guest speaker will be addressing the crowd in highly sensational German. The administration may also prohibit or restrict student participation in demonstrations, petitions or picketing at places other than on campus, where such participation would contradict or otherwise compromise the principles and policies of Liberty University.

but then again, it's a private school and you don't have to go there.

I have to admit I'm old enough to have found some level of comfort in the dress code, considering I had to send a middle school girl home this week because her pubes were showing above her belt line. It gets tiresome.

WOW, ESCITING! And soooo risque! Here's the whole paragraph:

"All students are asked to display mature Christian behavior in social interaction. Proper respect must be shown to all individuals at all times. Harassment of any type will not be tolerated. Handholding is the only appropriate form of personal contact. Improper personal contact or other forms of public display are considered in poor taste. After dusk, students should not be alone with an individual of the opposite sex in any unlighted area such as the ball fields, parking lots, parked cars, ravine or other wooded areas, etc. This is considered improper social behavior. I went to a Bible college whose rules are still every bit as restrictive as Liberty's. I'm sure there are places on that campus that the administration have no idea about, but the students know where they are. Of course, I'd also like to offer the disclaimer that I was one of the few that didn't break the rules in this area. (I was too busy helping my rulebreaking roommate Kim, who's now a pastor's wife, sneak back into the dorm after lights out...)

Our dentist is a laugh and a half. I lie in his chair and laugh till I cry. One of his conversational gambits goes like this: "Julie, my mother can't believe I'm not having kids. She thinks it's a sin. I'm probably going to hell." (I'm laughing and trying not to choke.) He rolls his eyes heavenwards: "At least my friends will be there, too."

44. The piercing regulations are good too
Males: no piercings of any kind, body piercing specifically addressed
Females: earlobe piercings permitted, other "facial" piercings to include tongue not permitted

Since body piercing is specifically disallowed for males but not mentioned for females, it's very obvious to me that all you Liberty-bound ladies need to stop by the local tattoo parlor and get your hood done. If nothing else, this will make Falwell's interminable church services bearable...

46. Oh the hypocrisy
So violence if you're playing soldier is ok. :eyes:

Video Games
The playing of video games that are “A” and “RP” -rated is not permitted, and is a reprimandable offense. The playing of “EC”, “E”, and “T”-rated games are permitted but should be played with discretion. Any “M” -rated games with descriptors indicating any sexual content, alcohol/drug content, or strong language are not permitted, and is a reprimandable offense. “M” -rated games depicting violence will be at the discretion of Resident Directors. Liberty University refers to the Bible for all moral standards.

NOTE: Many games portray realistic military operations and while they contain violence descriptors, they do not contain any reference to sexual themes, drug/alcohol use, and/or strong language. Games that contain criminal violence not suitable for playing on campus are often paired with descriptors such as strong sexual themes, strong language, drug use, etc.

>probably torture or something.<

Nawww. It's just a kangaroo court of mucho administrators, professors, and those of your peers who probably have a stick jammed in a really, really painful area of the body. At that time, it was mostly a formality -- the school needed funds so badly that they wouldn't kick anyone out unless the transgression was truly egregious, like getting caught doing the deed behind the athletic building. I was lucky enough to escape the tribunal (despite skipping Chapel on more than one occasion,) but the aforementioned former roommate Kim didn't fare as well as I did. I have no idea to this day what her punishment was.

The dean of women used to see me in the hallway or on campus and intone in her sickeningly sweet way, "Julie, we're prayyyyinnnnnggggg for youuuuuuuu."

Edited on Sat Apr-08-06 06:37 PM by YouthInAsia
forced to take (needed a theology credit) and the professor was a WACK_JOB. A total religious nutcase. Anyway, for the final paper we had to write about whether or not god exists. I argued NO. It was a good paper too! He gave me an A but at the end of it he wrote (in red pen) that he was "going to pray for me and my family." YES!!! I showed that paper to everyone I knew and they all laughed just as hard as I did.

This guy used to say to us "I know what you guys do on the weekends. You're all smoking pot, snorting coke and having sex. You're all sinners." My friend raised her hand and said "Who sorts coke?" HAHAHAHA. He hated the the three of us (of course in the back of the room)

91. Free to think, or free of thinking?
It's tragedy the way "christians" I know who used to have high IQs are now afraid to even think about evolution, or about how to interpret the bible.
They believe that if they use their own brains they may get "wrong thoughts" and start questioning their beliefs and go to hell.

I'm not saying this as a general observation of christians, just of the type of "christianity" three brothers and some aquaintances have got sucked into.

you for? You'd probably have to pass some strident religious test in order to work there.

Welcome to Du, by the way!

I just got tired of the narrow, unloving, intolerant, cookie-cutter mentality. When you find yourself in a situation where you and everybody you know can practically finish each other's sentences because they all think the same, it's time for some new friends. It just got too constricting for me.

96. It's the shorts. They're specifically mentioned.
No shorts except at gym class.

We can probably all think of one person we'd like to send to Liberty, and I volunteer Dave Villwock's son. Why, I'd love to get together the cash to endow a Dave Villwock Chair of something--any marine discipline would be good, and since this college is in a coastal state they probably have something related to the ocean. An engineering chair would be better, but as a liberal arts institution they don't have that.

Dave Villwock was the last man to drive Miss Budweiser before Anheuser-Busch went on an austerity kick and took their name off the boat. Falwell would shit.

They have financial fines for reprimands.

What an awful place to have to go to college. I bet inmates have more fun in prison.

So much for going into the world to learn and minister to others.

and pretty much roll their eyes/ignore this crap.... and think Falwell is a joke!

my son is in college (not Liberty) and goes there for some games, talks to the kids there.

NOTE: University personnel may periodically visit the private residence of off campus students to assist in resolving off campus problems and to ensure compliance to University regulations.
