SNL spoofs Tom Tancredo, Vincente Fox, Cynthia McKinney - no Bush, DeLay
SNL's opening skit.

I thought sure as hell it'd be about the Leaker-in-Chief or DeLay.

Disappointing!

1. SNL isn't what it used to be...
Of course, I pretty much stopped watching when the original cast left.

5. It hasn't been funny since the seventies. There was no show
like it for side splitting laughter.

Now I barely manage a chuckle when I watch it,which is very rare.

6. IMO if they spoofed bush or cheney it only
endears people to them. The bush cabal isnt worthy of even being spoofed. Its hard to laugh at such destruction/

7. The guy who does Bush is really good IMO.

On edit: His portrayal of Zell Miller is also dead on. He would spaz out so much his face would flush.

8. Did you wait for the "Weekend Update" segment?
Delay will return to his favorite activity - knocking ice cream cones out of childrens' hands.

10. Yup, they went after McKinney again -- Bush totally escaped
TOTALLY!

No more SNL for me.

18. The American Idol spoof of Delay's resignation, featuring the song
"Bad Day", was certainly laugh-worthy..."remember kids, you have to vote for your favorites if you want them to stay around"!

9. Speaking truth to power vs coddling the powerful and mocking the
powerless - SNL is obscene. Since they mocked Gore in 2000, I refuse to tune in.

11. Obviously, Al Gore must've forgiven their "mocking", since he hosted SNL
in 2002. He was in almost every sketch, and he was GREAT! (BTW, Al's material in this SNL ep were specially written by another Al, Al Franken.)

"Saturday Night Live" cast members attempts to revive Al Gore after hitting him with a stun gun to separate him from a prolonged kiss with Tipper.

19. I also enjoyed their "West Wing" sketch
Here's a pic of Gore in the replica Oval Office, with Martin Sheen and John Spencer. (This episode was later released as an Emmy nomination DVD -- the copies sometimes show up on eBay.)

17. "and those under 2 years will be right back with your entrees."
That line by Tina Fey at the end of her explanation regarding the proposed new immigration bill was the funniest line in the entire show.

20. they did take numerous jabs at the immigration issue
I liked the part where Antonio Banderas, Horatio Sanz, and Fred Armisen were scheming about how to take away everyone's jobs, steal their women, and "cut them with knives". Nice way to get at the stereotyping (especially since there are a lot of Americans, like Fred, who "don't look Hispanic" but actually are ...).
