RW extremists seek to have abortion doctor prosecuted

WICHITA, Kan. - Abortion opponents Friday submitted petitions demanding a grand jury investigation into the case of a mentally retarded woman who died of an infection after undergoing a late-term abortion.

The petitions contained 7,754 signatures, far more than required under a little-used Kansas law that enables citzens to force the impaneling of a grand jury.

Abortion foes want to see Dr. George Tiller prosecuted on charges of involuntary manslaughter and other offenses in the death of Christin Gilbert, a 19-year-old woman whose family brought her to Tiller's clinic in Wichita last year.

2. I Read This The Other Day. Unfortunately There Are Such Few Details

Maybe he should be prosecuted, maybe he shouldn't be. Thing is I have no idea what he did or didn't do that is causing some to think he had some responsibility in her death from the late term abortion. There was only like one other article on it too. If anyone has found additional details as to the circumstances surrounding her death (I know it was sepsis, but I mean as far as how he may have been partially responsible) please post them.

While an autopsy listed complications from the abortion as the cause of death, the board concluded that neither Tiller nor his staff was responsible.

It sounds like this woman's death was well investigated. These people just don't like the conclusions. The article mentions that George Tiller has been shot and his clinic has been bombed.
