I'm freaking out!!!
This just can't be happening, can it? From startribune.com:

"U.S. considers strikes on Iran

A sobering assessment of Iraq's stability confirms that the nation's ethnic and religious schisms have become entrenched. The discord is evidenced daily: On Saturday, a car bomb killed six and injured 21 in a predominantly Shiite town."

and:

"The Bush administration is studying options for airstrikes against Iran as part of its strategy to pressure Tehran to end its alleged nuclear arms program, the Washington Post reports."

THE IRAN PLANS
Would President Bush go to war to stop Tehran from getting the bomb?
by SEYMOUR M. HERSH
Issue of 2006-04-17
Posted 2006-04-10

The Bush Administration, while publicly advocating diplomacy in order to stop Iran from pursuing a nuclear weapon, has increased clandestine activities inside Iran and intensified planning for a possible major air attack. Current and former American military and intelligence officials said that Air Force planning groups are drawing up lists of targets, and teams of American combat troops have been ordered into Iran, under cover, to collect targeting data and to establish contact with anti-government ethnic-minority groups. The officials say that President Bush is determined to deny the Iranian regime the opportunity to begin a pilot program, planned for this spring, to enrich uranium.

in power and I think they're foaming at the mouth to use those kewl Nukuler weapons.

His poll numbers are at 36%.:scared: We should all be afraid of what they will do next. G-d only knows how low his poll numbers will be for the '08 election.:scared:

I like your screen name.

29. Well
There is a big election coming up. They want to start beating the drums of war again. If we ever get to peace again, all of the folks who voted for Republicans will be responsible for destroying our country from within.

Look at the depression in 1929. We're going back to the policies that brought that about, the problems that keep Mexico at 40% unemployment, no middle class, and a huge wealth disparity so bad that no one has money to spend to drive the economy.

30. I know, but HIS poll numbers will directly affect the rest of the psycho
repuke party and they have EMBRACED his agenda.

They stick together like bees on honey and if the Nazi psycho wants to attack Iran, declare martial law because of terror! terror! terror! threats, they will GLADLY support it...to stay in power. If his numbers continue to swirl down the toilet, they will know they're TOAST and do whatever it takes to retain power. If Dems take back Congress, they know they will be investigated and they don't want to let that happen because they will NEVER have control again when the people learn what they have done.

4. I've asked this question a jillion times.
How does it become the US's responsibility to decide who can and can't be trusted with WMD? I can think of no global consensus that the Bush administration should be the judge and jury with regard to other sovereign nations' development of nuclear arms.

8. Yes, well, when one or more of those countries bullied by W
decides to strike back, or worse yet, launch a peremptory strike, it's going have everything to do with the US. Frankly, that worries me, because I'm a US citizen, and 99 percent of my family and friends live in the US. It scares the crap out of me. I believe he's making US citizens, both at home and abroad, _less safe_. :scared:

(I don't disagree with you, Erika.)

bullied.. The other big issue I fear is us U.S. citizens getting it from two directions.. I fear the administration will try to crush dissent from within and crackdown, and on top of that we'll be less safe due to the * bullying abroad and here at home.. I fear we're going to get it coming and going..

edit for clarity..

if Bush allowed the UN any say in US military affairs. They'd be screaming that such deference would undermine US sovereignty. But they say that about the Geneva Conventions, too. :eyes:

of the immigration bill.

They will claim that iran has come into compliance thanks to their hard work and brilliant diplomacy, announcing a GREAT victory with no blood shed.

Some Generals with a sane mind could step up to the plate. Their FIRST duty is to protect the Constitution...NOT an INSANE SOB like BUSH.

27. There are Generals who think this man has overstepped his boundaries.
Zinni and Wes Clark come to mind. There also seems to be some in the Pentagon who aren't thrilled with the psycho. If they see there's no other way, they will save our country and the Constitution. I really don't think any SANE person wants to go down the nuclear bomb road.

My husband, a very wise man, keeps telling me, "We will have a hero/heroes step up and do the right thing. They always do. SOMEONE will stop these people." I keep holding on to that statement.

When you heard that CNN report about attacking Iran, which I saw too, did you notice they didn't even touch on the NUCLEAR BOMB ANGLE? I did. Are they going to hide that info from the people?
