Poll question: POLL POOL
we're curious about how the Libby/leak revelation will effect bush*'s numbers.

currently - according to Real Clear Politcs http://www.realclearpolitics.com/polls

bush*'s average as of 03-29-04-05 approve 38.0% disapprove 57.0%

here's the question: what will bush*'s average approval number be on the polls being taken after this week's Libby/leak revelation

try to be a bit thoughtful about this - I know alot of us want to see at least a 38% drop followed by tar and feathering

and by the way - help yourself to the liar-liar-pants-on-fire 'smilie' below

2. 31% to 35% is probably about right

Check out this comparison of Clinton - Dubya - Nixon

Nixon was in the mid-twenties toward the end, but we're not there yet. We'll reach that point after Democrats win a majority in at least one house of Congress. That's when we'll uncover more of the awful truth.

3. I voted "no change" because I think we've reached the point
where his support is from his core and they're not going to drop him over this.

4. Went with 6-10%. Have no idea, really. I'm still stupefied that
anyone would vote for a Dubya-Dick ticket over a Kerry-Edwards ticket.

Blows my mind.

Not sure, but I think a lot of U.S. voters, even Republicans, are realizing that the buyer's remorse period has now begun. Kerry, Gore, Feingold, Edwards, Clark, Kucinich, and many other Democrats are sounding strong and forceful in public these days while the Bush administration loses credibility by the hour.

Could be a real blue November coming up.

5. I agree it will drop by 6-10points
he's scrapping the bottom of the barrel with his core-kool-aid drinkers

but there are still 3 cards up his sleeve:

1. terror attack on US soil (but it's risky for him after all the blather about how much safer we are with bush*) -- it could just be one that was "thwarted" at the last moment by virture of illegal wiretaps.

2. bush* "finds" bin-laden

3. Invading Iran by virture of defending Israel from an attack by Iran or by blaming an actual/thwarted terror attack on Iran

fear factor is still very much in play - although just an 'alert' won't do it - he's cried wolf too many times for it to have any significan/lasting effect

6. You're right, radfringe. He is the very soul of the boy who cried 'Wolf!'
And folks are sick of it. Tom Ridge was before the mikes every 20 minutes, seemed like, during the election campaign. But since then, there've been damned few such terror alerts. More deceit and manipulation by BushCo.

I'd like to see the floor fall out from under Bush's public support. Lower than Nixon's if at all possible, but you're right to say it won't happen until full disclosure happens, and that won't happen until there are more blue votes in Congress.

But I sure love the trend.

7. Probably won't change much. There might be a few die-hard supporters
out there that will shake their heads and decide they just can't support the guy any more but most people have already made up their minds about this administration.

The ones that believe that he's on a mission from god to protect the homeland will continue to believe it. The rest of us have already seem behind the curtain.
