It's obvious that the pardon would only be to keep Bush & Cheney from having to testify -- hence tell the truth under oath. I'd think that would piss off the moderates -- swing voters who really make a difference -- more than anything. (The base will never change.) In the end, no matter what they do -- pardon or testify -- they're screwed, IMHO.

3. Would there be widespread outrage over a pardon?

The WH is in a real bind here. A pardon would have obvious negative implications of guilt. Not pardoning would expose no telling what other scandals. Just the position we want them in.

4. Typical Of The Twisted DiGenova/Toensing Cabal

During the Clinton impeachment proceedings they were screaming for his head. Now with serious security matters at stake and a lying, cheating rez, they are floating out a pardon story. On what grounds they should be asked. On the one hand they say nothing here, move along, and on the other they are talking pardons. Frankly, pardon/pardons might very well be a death knell for the pugs.
