Think they'd step up and tell Bush no way? It would seem if they did Bush would have to back down because China could fuck us financially, and in other ways if they wanted to.

1. I have often wondered what the implications of China's loans
to us would be? What happens when a country goes bankrupt? What backs up these loans? How much power do they actually hold over out economic system?

4. But if we nuke them, there is very little cost
Of course, the Chinese will not be happy with all that nuclear fallout on their border, but what the heck, what is done can't be undone!

If Iran is smart, they'll put their nuclear facilities right next to their oil production. Blowing up that would make a lot of countries fighting mad at the U.S.

Can we say, "World War III?"

5. We have already been conditioned to accept the possibility of
waging a "limited" nuclear war by the rulers, it is now only a matter of time. Of course the very idea of a limited, or contained, nuclear exchange is asinine on its face, but they have already convinced themselves that it will go as they wish (remember how Iraq would pay for its own occupation, and would greet our troops with flowers and cheering throngs?), and they already have their reserved seats in the bunkers anyway.

6. They could dump their dollar portfolio.
While that'd mean taking a big hit on the value, it would make the dollar worth less for the US consumer, too. Because our economy is so tied to imports, we'd see huge spike in the cost of goods. China could float their Yuan against the USD...that would also increase the price of goods.

I could see this kind of action taken rather than an overt act of military aggression against the US. Think of it as a financial nuetron bomb.

7. I think that is why the action was taken on M3
so the dollar/yuan/euro rate difference will not be so obvious.

And we can print boatloads of dollars to cover.

10. Russia & China will take advantage of it by getting closer to Iran,
Syria, Venezuela, and each other.

They know Bush is on his way out, and if he attacks Iran, that may hurt Bush more at home than Russia or China could hurt him by overreacting.
