Scariest thing I have ever heard from a * supporter (regarding Iran)
"Iran (call Persia in the Bible) will be a key part in the battle of Armageddon.
Bush, a devout Christian, is just doing his part to fulfill Bible prophecy."

Words fail me. They actually want him to kill us all.

5. They used to be
until the Thorazine kicked in. Lots of people in the old state mental institutions were the religiously insane.

This idiot certainly qualifies.

Deinstitutionalization was the policy that may be determined to have wrecked this country more than any other.

4. The Bible predicts this yes BUT THE MESSAGE IS CLEAR, from Jesus
that many false messiahs will arise (bush, fallwell, robertson) and Jesus says NOT TO GO AFTER THEM.

Jesus said that "It must needs be that evil will come BUT WOE UNTO THAT MAN BY WHICH IT COME." About Judas betrayal and others of the truth "It were better for that man IF HE HAD NEVER BEEN BORN."

6. Here was my response:
"So what you're saying it that you support Bush because he wants to destroy the world??? That is the scariest thing I have ever heard from a W supporter. You actually want him to kill us all to "fulfill Biblical prophecy?" Words fail me. Do you know that Pope John Paul thought Bush is the Antichrist? People like you should be locked in a padded cell and have the key thrown away. I am sure that when Bush gets us all nuked, you will still be praising him as your skin melts off.

And BTW, what is Christian about him? Jesus loved peace, Bush loves war. Jesus cared for the poor, Bush only cares for the rich. Jesus said "turn the other cheek," Bush says "kick their ass and take their gas." And don't give me any of that "he's against gay marriage, he hates the same people God hates" BS."

8. Jesus summation of The Book of Revelations and the End Times and What we
need to do and it is not to cheer on the suffering and there is always the hope that what people do will change the future. A warning and a promise as well.

King James Version (KJV) Luke - Chapter 21

Luk 21:5 And as some spake of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said, :6 these things which ye behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign when these things shall come to pass?

Luk 21:8 And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them. But when ye shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end not by and by.

Luk 21:10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven. :12 But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute , delivering up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.

And it shall turn to you for a testimony.

Luk 21:16 And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and of you shall they cause to be put to death. 7 And ye shall be hated of all for my name's sake.

Luk 21:20 And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. Luk 21:21 Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

Luk 21:22 For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. Luk 21:23 But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

Luk 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. :25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Luk 21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. Luk 21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Luk 21:29 And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees; 21:30 When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand. 21:31 So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

Luk 21:32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled. 21:33 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. Luk 21:34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day come upon you unawares.

Luk 21:35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Luk 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Luk 21:37 And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called of Olives.

11. The real funny thing is the bible
also talks about how the anti christ will try to start armagaden for the faithful and tricks them into following him. Am I saying shrubs the anti christ, nah, he's just the first one since raygun to make people believe that democrats and liberals are the new soviet threat. The real threat are most of the stolid shrub supporters are of the same mind set, they are living in the end time and any day now the rapture will pull them out so nothing matters to them. Heard one wing nut say that about a week ago, why worry about high gas prices or anything else as GW was going to lead them to the rapture. Oh yeah but in case that doesn't happen, well they will need all their riches so they don't suffer with the rest of us if the end times don't come. They are making plans for both so they aren't invovled.

....the first Pres since Truman to use a :nuke:. There have also been articles posted in the past that claims idiot boy/Cheney supposedly believes he or both of them are the chosen one/s to carry out Bible prophecy. In these articles it indicated idiot boy/Cheney are willing to :nuke: the hell out of Iran to bring about "the end times" too. I can't find the articles now.:banghead:

If someone knows the articles I'm referring to - some posted the last few days - please link them here.

20. Right.

It never fails to confound me that the most self righteous, in-your-face Christian nuts are the ones most afraid to die, or to let loved ones die. Ala Terry Schiavo.

How do they reconcile wanting someone to go to Heaven/Paradise, where there is no more suffering, but at the same time trying to keep them trapped and suffering on Earth, and prevent them from reaching Heaven as long as possible? :wtf:

I just don't get it.

17. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive man
And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to for to shew him the buildings of the temple. Mat 24:2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. Mat 24:3 And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world? :4 And
Jesus answered and said unto them,:dilemma: Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. :dilemma:

And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

All these the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: ...24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

Mat 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. :13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 4:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Mat 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand ...:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of theworld to this time, no, nor ever shall be. 24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

Mat 24:23 Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here Christ, or there; believe not. 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Mat 24:25 Behold, I have told you before.

Mat 24:26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, in the secret chambers; believe not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Mat 24:28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Mat 24:31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, at the doors.Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

24:45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season? Blessed that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing. Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; And shall begin to smite fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for , and in an hour that he is not aware of, ...

18. I wonder if the Christians --
-- and I use that term very loosely to define this subset, the * followers -- have stopped to consider that prophecy is fulfilled not by men intending to do so but by divine intercedence and/or foresight. Hence...he cannot 'fulfill' a prophecy. It's no different than burning every thing you own and then lamenting because you have nothing.

Also, the Premillenialists and other literal interpreters do not often take the time to notice the discrepancies in possibility with the nature of said Creator Being and the prophesied timeline. Just a quick one to demonstrate -- how can the rapture take the 'worthy'...when none can be worthy and can only be redeemed by grace. Or...if these worthy do exist, then the Justness of God cannot be true because of the differing descriptions of the afterlife given e.g., Paradise, Abraham's Bosom (Fugue Plain), etc.

And no, although i was raised fundie ( :scared: ), I reached the age of Reason. At that age I had to part from mythology. :)
