3. I'll register an objection on behalf of the late Paul Simon, Sen of Ill.
And who can forget the parody of him Al Franken did on SNL.

"Is it the bow tie?!"

Paul was a former rep who won the senate race in '84.

His old AA was a guy named Floyd Fithian. Funny how you remember things like that. I have a diary from Colonial times that is from a Fithian, and it's one of Floyd's long ago relatives. Small world, eh?

8. I think most people who wear neckties,
like myself, do it because it's a job requirement (believe me, I wouldn't voluntarily wear the damned things). It has nothing to do with party affiliation. Now bowties... that's another issue.
