well, there was the US on Japan... twice.

yep. that's about it. we're the only ones that seem to be willing to do that.

How about a bilateral strike? Whelp, there was the cold war, but nobody really struck. Scary thought, I suppose, being struck back if we were to strike. Assured mutual destruction and all.

It only makes sense to use nukes against countries that can't strike back, otherwise hundreds of thousands of Americans may suffer the same fate we inflict upon them.

We are bullies and we are cowards...and we have been for many years. Insane paranoid greedy psychopaths running the show. How did we let this happen?

So the war was escalated to the nuclear level, but it wasn't technically a "first strike". And a bilateral strike starts off as a unilateral one......

I may be wrong, but I suspect a nuclear first strike on the US wouldn't bother you too much. If not, my mistake. But many people feel that nuclear weapons should never be used, unless used on Americans. Americans have much to pay for (wars against Germany, Italy, Japan; undermining the British, French and Soviet Empires, etc. etc.)

I've never heard that point of view spoken before. I wouldn't wish a nuke on anyone.

My post was anti nuke - pure and simple. But I've seen no historical evidence that "many people" want to strike the US. North Korea, China, Russia - they all could have used them on us & they haven't. The only historical basis we have on use of nukes has come from our use of nukes.

We are agressors. The way to make up for that is to start acting like the civilized society that we claim to be. This eye for and eye bullshit is neverending. Another thing history teaches us.
