New Bush doctrine-- pre-emptive war to protect another country
Here is Bush's warning on the danger posed by Iran:

"The threat from Iran is, of course, their stated objective to destroy our strong ally Israel," the president said last month in Cleveland. "That's a threat, a serious threat. It's a threat to world peace; it's a threat, in essence, to a strong alliance. I made it clear, I'll make it clear again, that we will use military might to protect our ally."

When we pre-emptively attacked Iraq, it was ostensibly to protect ourselves from WMD that allegedly could demolish American cities within 15 minutes of Saddam's say-so. The U.S. also made an attempt-- feeble as it was-- to forge an international coalition to undertake regime change in Iraq.

Now, the U.S. appears ready to pre-emptively strike Iran for the presumed threat that Iran bears to yet another third country. And it doesn't look like we give a darn about what any other country thinks about our intentions, let alone like we are looking for any additional nations to help share the cost, blood and pain of such a new war.

WTF? The first incarnation of the "Bush Doctrine" was bad enough!

Edited on Sun Apr-09-06 08:36 PM by strategery blunder
to protect Chad's eastern border from Sudan's Janjaweed militia.

Nah, that's on the savage Dark Continent. Nobody cares about that. No oil or fundie significance there. :sarcasm::sarcasm::sarcasm:

4. Questionable -- Israel has sold US missile technology to China
some say so what the patriot missiles don't work anyway.

However, Israel has been caught transferring weapons technology -- so does that make them our ally??

They might be a liability -- for example if Israel elects a right wing religious wacko and the US has a resident right wing religious wacko -- we are all in very big trouble.

6. Well, it's the first time I've ever heard that Israel is so vital
to our interests that we'd wage a nuclear war to defend it.

But Israel's where Christ lived and where the Bible was written, so I guess if God tells our President to bomb Iran to protect it, there must be something important there to justify it.

9. gawd told him to protect Israel
That's why the US has been such a strong supporter for so long. Israel is gawd and jebus country.

Oh, and it's in bush's 'messianic' vision.

The RW nutjob base of his will get worse. It'll all be about the apocolypse and all that. The final battle takes place in meggido, four horsemen and the anti-christ...blah, blah, blah.

There was no reasoning with them before, but now they'll be rabid about this.

and none of it will be bush's fault. It'll be gawd's plan.

This should scare the living shit out of most people.

11. The Israel Squad will be here momentarily to yell at you for that!
Normally they would have been here by now. It must be past their bed time, I am really quite surprised.

13. human history in weapons
some rightward winging warmongers agree,
that all human history is weapons evolutions,
and every civilization exists by its technology,
dog eat dog advances in military institution.

And in the end of history, that nuclear apogee,
we're now to make a peace and fix the constitution,
instead the new selector will nuke agressively,
and a new race of man will rule the institution.

Here in the real end of history,
overpopulated degenerate pollution of earth's fortune,
toxic weapons dumps to keep us free,
put smallpox on the blankets and kill the native indian.
Evoutions in war, are not a treasure,
social advances, Dharma's true measure.
