HEADS UP: CNN is planning to "swiftboat" John Conyers
They had a teaser for it on American Morning earlier. The segment is supposed to air on Paula Zahn's show later today at 8pm Eastern.

A RW tool posing as a reporter named Drew Griffin plans to do a story that John Conyers forced his congressional staff to do baby-sitting chores. The promo made it sound like Conyers is the biggest crook on the planet.

If you want to let CNN know how you feel about their planned smear attempt, here's the link to the show's feedback form: http://www.cnn.com/feedback/forms/form5.html?11

3. Recycled crappola
Old stuff.

Don't know if it's true, and I don't care.

Doesn't compare with the crimes of ChimpCo Inc.

5. It made me ill when I heard it this A.M.
There was talk of this a while ago ...some how I had naively believed they (the media) had decided to keep things in perspective.

12. Also, Conyers or a staffer should go to the CNN studios
and absolutely demand that they put him on side by side with whoever is making the accusations. Kerry didn't do this and it cost him dearly. He should have been pounding on the glass of their news fishbowl, demanding that they let him respond to the BS.

Then just turn it around Clinton style -- "who pays you to do these appearances?" "Why are you trying to change the subject from the WH scandals?" etc.

13. Excellent advice! I sure hope Mr. Conyers handles it this way.
In the preview clip though, it shows him quietly just turning and walking away from the reporter/tool.

McKinney was set up. Conyers is set up with old news. One by one the desperate try to knock off the folks who have spoken "Truth to Power."

11. It's more of the same. There were no documents to declassify on him so
the administration is using the next best thing. He should just come out and say he used staffers (if he did) and that's the end of story.

14. Also, financially he's clean
I remembering reading in freeperland that they had searched his finances and were surprised and dismayed that he was clean.....

It seems odd that the msot vocal beloved Democrat is being swiftboated with old news when things get hot in thte white hosue its pathetic.

My question is, are there such things as Congressional Assistants that do the day to day things for Congressmen that they have no time to do?? What's the norm? What are the sepcific congressional rules on this kind of stuff?
