Primetime Moves At MSNBC: Joe At 9, Tucker At 10, Rita At 11

MSNBC is shaking up its primetime lineup next Monday, TVNewser has learned. Joe Scarborough is moving ahead an hour to 9pm, Rita Cosby is being pushed to 11pm, and Tucker Carlson is taking Joe's spot at 10pm.

The lineup change is intended to create a more seamless primetime lineup. Hardball with Chris Matthews and Countdown with Keith Olbermann have enjoyed ratings gains in recent months, but Countdown's viewers don't seem to stick around for Rita's crime segments.

So here's the new schedule: Scarborough Country at 9pm, The Situation with Tucker Carlson at 10pm, and Live & Direct with Rita Cosby at 11pm. Expect an announcement later this week...

As a LOYAL Countdown viewer...who doesn't stick around for Rita...I think (and I'm SERIOUS) that you should get Phil Donohue back after Countdown. Cable TV ratings (for both MSNBC and CNN) fell because people like me want intelligent news and real debate about issues of importance. Keith Olbermann has never let go of REAL NEWS issues, even though it's presented in an entertaining way. I'm sure Rita Cosby is a nice person...but her show content is useless to my life. Even Ted Turner has noticed this about his old network, CNN. So talk to Phil...pay the cost...we Countdown viewers will stay tuned! :)

P.S. By the way...here in XXXXX, California, Hardball airs only at 2:00 p.m., 4:00p.m., and MIDNIGHT PST. It is NEVER on during prime time when I can watch. The ratings might go up if that were addressed. :)
