1. Anything to take the focus off of washington.
Plus as we have seen right here, DU is deeply divided on this issue. Divide and conquer wedgies are their forte.

Keep pumping the immigration meme you trolls and naifs.

3. Which one am I, a troll or a naif?
I'm honestly amazed by the events of this week, and I'm still not entirely sure what the real significance is yet.

One the one hand, you have a classic "change the subject" maneuver by the RW machine, just like with gay marriage.

UNLIKE with gay marriage, you have an OVERNIGHT response of MILLIONS of people in the streets, in strong opposition to the message the RWers are putting out, who are obviously well organized and coordinated, and very passionate about being demonized. I would suspect that the citizens among this group are about a million times more likely to vote than the average idiot shrubya dead-ender that Roveco is trying to herd to the polls with this lame maneuver.

It's an interesting time. I don't think discussing the developments constitutes trolling OR naivete.

4. Perhaps not, which is why I keep responding to the posts.
I agree with your point regarding the mobilization of the pro immigrant community. So, I'll rephrase, 90% of the orginal threads here on the issue are some form of 'build a wall/throw the bums out/but they're illegal' - and that is trolling on orders from the RNC or Democratic naivity resulting in divisive behavior.

Perhaps I am just tired of seeing posters telling me why I should fear the Mexican hordes when my competitive problems are all located in Bangalore. So I apologize for painting you with the broad brush of troll-naif.
