A plea to Patrick Fitzgerald

Dear Patrick,

I know you're a busy guy, and I know that you have an awful lot on your plate right now, but in case you've been so buried in your work that you haven't noticed, our President, George W. Bush, seems to have lost his mind. He now believes we are going to have to go to war in Iran, due to the possibility that they might have nuclear weapons in the next 2-10 years. The consequences of this ill-advised step are obvious to most, but invisible to President Bush.

He has admitted that he lied to everyone about who leaked the information about Valerie Plame. Isn't this grounds for impeachment? It seems to me that when the President of the United States lies to the American people, yet alone the entire world, that should be grounds for everyone to not trust him. And a President who has proved himself untrustworthy can't lead the country.

So, would you be good enough to turn up the heat on your investigation? We know you and your staff are working very hard, and have long hours already, but you've got the dirt on some bad people in The White House, and they are causing great harm to America and other parts of the world. We know it takes time to interview, verify facts, and do all the paperwork necessary to make things happen. But if you'd just keep in mind that the longer Bush is not held accountable for his actions, the more potential damage he can cause. An indictment from you would sure slow him down.

Thanks for the great work, and on behalf of everyone in America and the world, I want you to know that your integrity and hard work are very much appreciated.

2. this is starting to bug me....why is he going at such a glacial pace?

I know, it's a very intricate case, but there are those here who've questioned his motives, believe it or not, and all should realize that anything's possible

why not just PUT the CHIMP on the stand?

why do you think Cheney had to be there to talk to the 911 commission? if you just put the moran under oath, by himself, he'd fall apart like Woody Allen in Bananas, when he cross examined HIMSELF?

this case would open up in a nanosplit if he was forced to go before the American people, the way they forced Clinton. can you imagine?

3. Fitzgerald is very deliberate, doesn't want any mistakes made

I've heard he's a major workaholic, often working well into the night and on weekends and holidays. He is very careful. I think it just takes a lot of time to do this. He has to interview people, try to accommodate their schedules, etc.

I'm glad he's doing a thorough job, but I strongly believe he has the dirt on Bush, Cheney, and Rove. So it would be nice if he'd make some "announcements" sooner, rather than later. ;)

7. It's A Criminal Investigation, Not A Political Maneuver.

I think the november elections are the last damn thing on Fitzgeralds mind right now, and I agree with him. He is an amazing prosecutor and builds his case masterfully regardless of how long it takes. I support him 100% and encourage him to take whatever time he needs to get it right. Of course I want it on the radar by November, but that is irrelevant in context of the case itself and I can assure you it is the furthest thing on fitzy's mind. In fact, it better be, since he has maintained his amazing level of integrity by not injecting the slightest hint of politicizing into it.

that may not affect the way he's prosecuting his case, but he's not living in a bubble, like the 'man' at 1600

13. You're Entitled To Think That Way If You Choose.

I however know better. I know his past cases, where he brought down perp after perp by taking his time. Never is a pretty foolish sentiment in this aspect. And I didn't say he doesn't understand the political ramifications of this. I'm just saying it isn't influencing his criminal investigation and most definitely isn't in his mind to wrap up by november to satisfy your political needs.

Fitzgerald is very thorough. He's not the kind of guy who would indict someone if he wasn't absolutely sure he could make the charges stick! And, in fact, I doubt if any of us would want him to do that if he thought there was a chance that someone could wiggle out of it.

well, for one thing Libby's case is not expected to go to trial until next January!!

If he were going to put him on the stand, it would probably be then.

Personally, I think Fitzgerald's real target is not Bush.........I think his real target is Cheney! And possibly Rove.........
