3. Neither.
I want somebody who will *lead*. Neither Kerry nor Edwards have shown that they have that crucial characteristic.

N.B., I am not saying that I wouldn't support Kerry or Edwards in 2008, but I would much prefer that somebody run who will lead the debate, setting the standard, instead of following or reacting.

ChimpCo has succeeded since 2000 because Democrats have been too afraid to jump out in front on the issues. In part, this is from Hillary Clinton's experiment with HealthCare after the 1992 election. The Repugs had a field day with her and nobody stood up, least of all the media.

Things are a bit different now and I think that the media is ready to again become the responsible fourth estate. However, without a Dem presidential candidate who will lead the country away from the Repug rhetoric, away from fear, away from the cynicism, we could easily lose again in 2008. That's why I'm a little gun shy about Kerry. That may change, if Big John steps up to the plate and swings away.

6. Both. The party is stronger when two worthy human beings and
public servants stand and ask to lead it.

7. Between those two, Kerry all the way
But Gore is my first choice and Feingold or Clark are second on my list.

8. Neither, but Edwards was sounding all the right notes in the campaign.
I wouldn't mind seeing him run again, but he would not be my first pick, and I doubt he could win.
