WTF! History being re-classified!
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060412/ap_on_go_ot/archive_secrecy

The number of documents that have been removed from public view, however, has soared since
President Bush took office in 2001 and the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks occurred.

An estimated 55,000 pages within 10,000 documents have been removed from public view, ranging from information about 1948 anti-American riots in Colombia to a 1962 telegram containing a translation of a Belgrade news article about China's nuclear capabilities.

This sounds like the memory hole in 1984, and how history could be revised. Minitrue. Wacko! We need to stand up and do something about this batshit crazy stuff. I mean this is getting way to out of hand now!

1. Since it was previously in public,
someone somewhere may have a copy of it. However, there may be a problem.

Someone who had documents that were later "classified" didn't know if he would be charged with releasing classified documents if he published that previously public information.

Bizarre world we live in thanks to Bush.

2. How would that work?
So does that mean if I go to the LBJ presidential library and photocopy some documents that used to be classified, but are now open, but then get re-classified by Bush, what do I do? Do I then have to throw the documents away?

3. Finding copies and getting it on the net helps.
Some supposed "lost" stuff is on "left wing conspiracy" sites. :)

4. who is doing all of this shit
I mean, god it feels like they have been planning for years for junior to take control and then they would do this stuff. Like they were sitting down planning, put a post it on the section titled, "reclassify things we feel is unnecessary for people to learn about." What the hell is going on, i really feel like i am living in 1984....the book not the even more evil of the Reagan years.

7. Dude (dudette?), this was the whole reason he was muscled into office
(Aside from enabling mad profits for the oil industry and defense contractors, of course). If you recall, one of his first acts was to repeal the act that would make presidential records public after 20 years. What ground does that cover? Oh yeah, the period that "Saint" Ronnie and W.'s piece-of-shit father entered the White House.

11. They're after things that, in the long run,
Begin to look like a loooooooong history of criminal acts. War crimes, complicity in genocide. They've got the courts locked up now. Scary times.

9. Cataline Conspiracy

Quo usque tandem abutere, Bush, patientia nostra? Quam diu etiam furor iste tuus nos eludet?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cataline_Orations

Just look at the conspiracy, sounds a little like today.

He described the conspirators as rich men who were in debt, men eager for power and wealth, Sulla's veterans, ruined men who hoped for any change, criminals, profligates, and other men of Catiline's ilk. He assured the people of Rome that they had nothing to fear because he, the consul, and the gods would protect the state.

just a few years later to the Republic? I no longer believe it can't happen here.
