Tx repukes: Marches won't have impact on Senate discussions
http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/nation/stories/041206dnnatimmig.122e3367.html

"There are not a lot of other things on Americans' minds today" besides the immigration debate, Mr. Sessions said, warning that if Congress legalizes the current group of illegal residents without tightening borders first, the nation should brace for 25 million more.

"Without these parts being in place, we will find that we are overrun," he said.

"I don't think the marches are having an impact on our discussions in the Senate," said Sen. John Cornyn. "Immigration can be a highly emotional issue. So it's important that we make sure principle trumps emotion as we work to fix our broken immigration system."

<snip>

Dr. Burgess said that if the majority of his constituents had their way, Congress would send armed National Guardsmen shoulder to shoulder to the Rio Grande. "I've gotten two letters saying we should have a guest-worker program," he said. "I've gotten thousands saying, 'Close the border.' "

1. The GOP House already dropped the felon charges
for illegals from their plan. Yes, based on the marches and support for the immigrants. The Senate will follow.

The borders need to be open with the exception of a security check.

2. Tx repukes like to blow smoke up the locals' asses
Makes it look good to the constituents, I guess. Kind of like when Sam Johnson was at a TX church gathering and started talking about he would fly a plane over to bomb Iraq on his own. Nice talk at a supposed church get together, huh?
Given that one report has 40% of North Texans being either immigrants or immigrants' offspring, you think these guys would tone it a little bit...I'm thinking that their comments were to try to take away attention/importance from the **500,000** people that marched in Dallas this past weekend. As if their comments could do that...NOT!
