Republican meltdown

I honestly think that the strain of pretending to be human--and adult--is just too much for our Republican "leadership". I was just reading the post about John McCain's snippy response to a Republican questioner about the budget deficit and it occurs to me that the Republicans are like children playing at being adults. Now that they see how difficult it actually is they are starting to crack. Their declaration that, "The adults are back in charge" seems more like a rallying cry to get themselved pumped up for their big performance. And that's what it seems to be: a performance. Acting like adults rather than being adults. As I read about Katherine Harris self-destructing, John McCain getting testy, resignation after resignation, I realize that the adults haven't been in charge for quite some time now. Our country is being run by a bunch of petulant children, with W. being the most petulant of all.

Not an earth-shattering post, I know, but I just had to say it.

7. What pisses me off

is, if and when the Diebold Gods ever let Democrats back in power, we will be flogged for doing necessary but unpopular work in cleaning up this stinking mess. Taxes must be raised, for example. Then the little 'pukies will scream and cry. They want to spend on war and slash taxes with no thought for the consequences. :grr:

we need to make short term sacrifices for the long term greater good for all but especially the "average" American (maybe not as much for the "rich" (poor babies :sarcasm:). Hopefully more Americans have, and will, grow up during this time as well.

A favorite topic of mine, lately.

I noticed, on the Rice/Iran/pre-emptive war threat cspin rerun this morning, Kerry and Feingold were, in very polite diplomat-ese, calling her and her whole crew liars and incompetents. She did not take it well. Reigning in just short of nasty, she was dodging in and out of snippy and testy.

On another press blabble, Donald (the fool) Ramshead and his trusty sidekick "Pete" had to use their patented lie preamble--beloved of politicians, but over used by republicans--the "I haven't read it" B.S.

Goes like: the reporter asks, "So and So at the Times said you f**k pigs. Is he right, sir, do you fu*k pigs?" And the liar, instead of saying, "Hell, no, and since you asked such a stupid question, that's all you get," says, "Well, I haven't read his report yet..."

The really clumsy, out and out lies, that a ten year old would not even try, plus the barely controlled, disgraceful snippiness is indicative of their hair trigger stress.

Something else of note, the host of Washington Journal, this morning, can't remember his name right now, revealed his r/w leanings (which I've long suspected) with what appeared to be some pretty testy grilling of a caller who wasn't bowing in obeisance to King George, the twit. Uncharacteristically aggressive. Surprised me.

They have NO vision, NO humanity, NO integrity. NO sense of social contract or obligation. NO nothin.

You could say they're stuck in some early stage of development (ca. middle school?)...where it's all about me and my buddies (and how WE do business is none of yours (nah nah nah).

They don't deserve to be in government. And we don't deserve to have them inflicted on us.
