I'm looking for a picture of Graham W. Jackson, Sr., "Official Musician of the State of Georgia."

"In 1945 Jackson became a national symbol of the grief felt over the passing of Franklin D. Roosevelt. A picture of Jackson playing the accordion and weeping as the body of Roosevelt left the Little White House in Warm Springs, Georgia was published in Life magazine. Throughout his lifetime people would remember Jackson from this picture and his association with Roosevelt."

Life magazine photographer Ed Clark took this powerful picture of Graham Jackson in Warm Springs as the body of FDR was put into a hearse to make the trip to the Warm Springs train station to begin the journey to Washington D.C. to lie in state.

First I thought the wingers wanted to erase the memory of Clinton, then I thought they were after the idea of the '60s, then I saw they were after FDR and the whole idea of the social contract of the New Deal.

10. FDR was a giant...

especially compared to the pygmy currently residing in his place. His legacy is far too great for the right to do it any lasting damage,I think(and I hope). He died too young,really,and it's sad that he never got to enjoy a happy retirement and old age. His counsel as an elder statesman would have been invaluable,too. I think tonight I'll have a martini(which he enjoyed making for his guests) in his honor. He makes me very proud to be a Democrat.
