Listeining to Shuster on Hardball...is Cheney being set up to
take the fall? Another well orchestrated situation where big Dick steps down, thus the unfortunate misfit son comes out smelling clean and setting up for the Pugs to keep things in the 06 election? Are we seeing the dirty, soiled hand of Rover?

3. He Set Himself Up
Cheney deserves everything that's coming to him, and more. But even if he gets the ultimate penalty, it will not save Dumbya's ass.

6. Cheney won't step down
I don't believe for a minute he will every do anything that could be interpreted as being an admission of guilt. No way. Never.

They are never wrong.
They never make mistakes.
Ever.

Why would someone who believes that history will judge them as being the greatest administration ever resign?

7. Cheney stepping down *because of a scandal* can only hurt...
Edited on Wed Apr-12-06 04:39 PM by mike_c
...the monkey king. On the other hand, if he keels over while slaughtering 10 year old girls in the "feeding room" it will set off weeks of cable propaganda outlet adulation for Cheney the "great American," some of which will inevitably rub off on Bush.

9. Bush couldn't set up a checkers board
No. If anyone is doing the setting up, it's Cheney himself. Bush is a rube and an idiot.

10. Dick Cheney is SEEMINGLY the most arrogant man alive ...
If he ever were to resign it would have been after he shot his friend in the face.

Nope, * will go before Darth Cheney - he's part of the CNS to the American-RW-Borg-Bots! :P

11. Very possible
I thought about that this morning.

Powell blamed Cheney for the aluminum tubes statements. Said that whole deal was Cheney. Libby directly names Cheney. With his 'in the toilet' poll numbers, shooting an old guy in the face and having to drag a crashcart with him wherever he goes, I wouldn't be surprised if we have a resigning VP.

Makes one wonder who they would bring in as VP...surely it would be a setup for a 2008 bid.

He leaves burned ground wherever he walks? Will Condie take it the next one? I don't think so. He's running out of get out of jail cards.
