Little by little, we have chiseled at this fraud of our nation, to show who and what he really is.

Some of us have been here since the beginning. Some of us just joined today.

Some of us have moved on and some of us are stuck in the same place.

Some of us knew before he was elected, some of us knew on 911, some of us are just waking up.

Most of us will never be Will Pitt, Randi Rhodes, Lou Dobbs or Chris Matthews.

Even though, little by little we have educated our families, our neighbors, our co-workers, our nemesis.

Some of us have lost families over this.

Some of us have gained familes during this.

We have to keep fighting. This is our country.

This is our Country.

DU, like no other site, is open to disagreement about what America is all about. Except that DU doesn't disagree that this nation should be the role model for the world; whether Lincoln's Gettysburg Address, the Declaration, MLK's "I Have a Dream" or FDR's Four Freedoms.
My uncle died in a foxhole in France in WWII. My grandparents came over from Scandinavia to Ellis Island around 1910. I marched against the Vietnam War in 1968, and beyond, and our President was never ever as bad as today. Never. So keep posting. Dammit. So, on a cheerier note, some beauty. Actually, lots of beauty.

Sometimes I get tired of fighting, as we all do. Sometimes I want to move out of this country, go someplace that doesn't have George Bush in the White House. Sometimes I want to say, the hell with it, I don't care any more. But that would be a lie. I do care, deeply, about this country and the people who inhabit it. And I care deeply about what is happening here, what has been happening the past few years. And I cannot leave. I cannot abandon the country and the people. I have to keep fighting.

You know, before a friend sent me a link to something on DU, which got me reading it nearly every day, I felt alone. Oh, I had a couple of friends who were as disgusted as I was (and am), but when I started reading DU, I literally felt that I had come home. I wasn't alone any more! There were so many, many people who felt the same way as I did, and that was one of the best realizations of my life.

Yes, we are chipping away, bit by bit, along with other sites, other people. I heard Joe Wilson on with Randi Rhodes today, and she was telling him how much she admired him for how cool and, well, diplomatic, he had been through this whole thing with the outing of his wife's identify. Randi said there was no way she could do that. And he said, "We all have our roles to play." That is so true. I am not an Ambassador. I do not have a widely listened to radio show. I don't have a TV show, nor do I write nationally syndicated columns. But, I can still do something -- I can, and do, talk to people on an individual basis, send them articles, help educate them. And I know many others on DU do the same. Individually we can make a difference in our little piece of the world. Together, we are starting to make a big difference. It may not seem like it sometimes, but things are changing, and people are waking up.

Keep fighting, folks. Keep educating. We ARE making a difference.

This is from AOL's front page a few minutes ago. I use aol for mail and check in whenever
they have a poll. For the past few months, six at lease, the polls on AOL are always a
disaster for *. He gets 70-80% disapproval all the time.

He's a long way from even acceptable to Americans.

When 70-80% of a population of 220,000 users consistently rate him this bad, we can assume
a couple of things: their minds are made up and they really don't like the guy.

Like I said, DU reflects the political attitudes of America. Congratulations.

when * was elected, my husband was outraged at my "insolence" and lack of respect.
He's our president, you have to respect him.. (barf)
He didn't believe what i knew to be true from reading here.
When the war started my husband and I actually could not even TALK about a lot
of stuff because it was "anti-american"
I was forbidden to send him articles that might illuminate his thinking. (but from time
to time, I did anyway - the bald truth begged for it)

How discouraged I was when I wrote to Senator Patty Murray (D, WA)
and even she was clueless about the deception that led us into war. But i wrote
back, telling her what I know.

little by little, (thanks to you guys) I chipped away at the bs that my husband believed.
I'm not sure about Patty Murray but i think that enough of us have written to her too.

If you spoke to my old man now, you'd never know that once he thought i was "over the edge"
because now he agrees with me.

disputed on DU at the time Bush Inc. was using
