17. Notice Cheney FOUR MONTHS later
At the end of the Clip... notice Cheney saying the same thing four MONTHS later. It is beyond belief that even if the President simply "hadn't heard" (more likely lied) that the trailers where sand toilettes, Cheney didn't know the truth and actively LIED.... AGAIN! They should BOTH be impeached.

These guys are the scum of the earth and should be lined up in front of a firing squad, after being duly convicted of treason, and shot. And don't let 'em have a last cigarette either!

46. Cheney most certainly did -- that's why he said it
He personifies, in my opinion, the abject contempt that this administration has for this country. Anyone who had only slightly been paying attention could have told you almost immediately that everything they said prior to the war and most definitely after was nothing but lie upon lie. If they had been listening during the 2000 campaign, the war with Iraq would not have come as such a surprise. Bush made it clear that settling the score with Sadaam was Job #1 for his gang, long before he took the oath.

They knew that most Americans would fall for their buzzwords of WMD, terror, national security etc., hook line and sinker, especially when it was wrapped up in the neat little package of God and country. And some of us, sadly, did. Now, as everyone is beginning to wake up, it's far too late and now we're looking at the EXACT same scenario with Iran, only with much higher stakes.

Shameless and repugnant. Two "family-friendly" words I can think of at the moment. Sorry for the (probably) unintelligble rant, but I am so, so sick of this shit. I hate to see my country played like this.

Kudos to ABC for having the courage to say it.

As one who can remember a bit of Watergate, I remember when they tied CREEP to the break-in.

It was a bold move, but it had to be done.

Unfortunately, instances like this are all too rare.

Thanks, ABC; you've again demonstrated why you have the only TV news I can bear to watch besides Countdown (which I don't really consider hard news).

If, incompetent, did Bush* fire those incompetents for their failure?
Or, did it not matter since getting Saddam out of Iraq was more important.
More important than our soldiers, our economy, our future, ... and Iraqi lives.

That Saddam trial is awfully expensive.

30. Your welcome! See an excerpt of a transcript of an interview on 5/30/03
Edited on Thu Apr-13-06 10:22 AM by OmmmSweetOmmm
I remember vividly when he was there talking about the biolabs and I had already read that they were debunked. This is on May 30, 2003. A week after they were revealed to be "sand toilets"

From an interview I heard him do in Poland..from the WH transcripts

Q But, still, those countries who didn't support the Iraqi Freedom operation use the same argument, weapons of mass destruction haven't been found. So what argument will you use now to justify this war?

THE PRESIDENT: We found the weapons of mass destruction. We found biological laboratories. You remember when Colin Powell stood up in front of the world, and he said, Iraq has got laboratories, mobile labs to build biological weapons. They're illegal. They're against the United Nations resolutions, and we've so far discovered two. And we'll find more weapons as time goes on. But for those who say we haven't found the banned manufacturing devices or banned weapons, they're wrong, we found them.

36. What's the matter? Won't like the new CBS News opening line?
Good evening, this is CBS Evening News with Katie Couric. Some people say...

Speaking of Katie Couric, has she gotten back to us about her accusation that Abramoff gave money to Democrats as well as Republicans?

COURIC: Hey, wait a second. Democrats took — Democrats took money from Abramoff too, Mr. Dean.

DEAN: That is absolutely false. That did not happen. Not one dime of money from Jack Abramoff went to any Democrat at any time.

COURIC: Let me just tell you — According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Abramoff and his associates gave $3 million to Republicans and $1.5 million to Democrats, including Sen. Minority Leader Harry Reid.

DEAN: Not one dime of Jack Abramoff money ever went to any Democrat. We can show you the FEC reports, we’d be very happy to do it. There’s a lot of stuff in the press that the Republican National Committee’s been spinning that this is a bipartisan scandal. It is a Republican-financed scandal. Not one dime of money from Jack Abramoff ever went to any Democrat, not one dime.

COURIC: Well, we’ll obviously have to look into that and clarify that for our viewers at a later date. Howard Dean, chairman of the Democratic National Committee, Mr. Dean, Governor Dean, thanks so much for talking with us.

DEAN: Thanks very much.

39. the Brits sold the equipment to the Iraqis so they knew what
those trucks were for.

also, by Jan 18 2003 the UN knew what the "bio labs" were for.

http://www.iraqwatch.org/government/Iraq/For-Ministry/iraq-mfa-inspex-011803.htm

A) Group I: Consisting of (7) inspectors, left Al-Qanat Hotel at 9:30 a.m. At 9:45 a.m., it arrived at the laboratory of examining the food stuff which belongs to the State Company of Food Trade. This visit was intended to verify the Iraqi declarations as regards the existence of a mobile laboratory. It is worth mentioning that these labs were the subject of US senior officials’ concern, as they accused Iraq of using these mobile labs for producing bio-weapons.

The group ascertained of the actual purpose of these labs which were to replace, in case of emergency and in case the permanent labs had undergone an aggression, the existed permanent ones for examining the food stuff that, to be distributed according to the ration card and before it reaches consumer citizens.

These labs were free of any bio-agents production capacity. The group also checked the mobile labs and took (10) samples and water specimen from these two labs, which one of them was imported and the other was locally made; the group photographed them, from inside and outside, and asked for the importation invoices, which were given to them.

The visit was ended at 12:20 p.m., and the group arrived at Al-Qanat Hotel at 12:35 p.m.

Watch the body language, especially from VP, as he is compelled to look away while lying. Remember how carefully Powell chose his words to try to conform to any tiny possibility that what he was saying was true, to assuage his conscience. How could these people be so determined to have what they wanted that they could willfully ignore that their actions would cause the death of thousands?

The only one who even had a possibility, albeit a slim one, of stating something he thought was factual was b*sh, as he only looked clueless.
