"Let's roll !" Quote from Flight 93: Another Bush lie.
Remember Bush's big play on "Let's roll?" A lie.

Transcript: "Roll it"...then the sound of the drinks cart hitting the cockpit door.

Add it to the mile-high pile of Bush lies.

He witnessed the shoot-down on radar.

It happened, or at least, that is what a professional ATC thought he witnessed.

14. Is this person speaking out?
Why didn't many ATCs witness the same thing? In order to believe in a conspiracy, one has to engage in massive convoluted thinking. One has to believe that thousands of people were in on it, and yet they were still successful at pulling it off. One thing's for certain: Conspiracy types are always willing to ignore Occam's Razor. Hoofbeats in the dark of night on Central Park West? Conspiracy theorist invariably think unicorns instead of horses.

They thrive on power and on murder and lies.

They cannot stand any dissent, and they will stop at nothing -- NOTHING -- to shut up anyone who disagrees with them, or who attempts to show that they are lying to the rest of us.

12. My understanding is that of all the calls made from the flight
not a single one was connected to a person known to the person calling. They went to this 'operator' who supposedly heard the 'lets roll' (a phrase I myself have never heard outside a war movie) or to answering machines.

iow, there's no proof that any of the calls were legit.

How did the cockpit voice recorder pick up the talk outside the cockpit where the drink table was smashing at the door? Most the talk inside the cockpit was barely intelligible, according to what I've read, but it picked up something from outside?

They've had four years to patch together whatever they want us to hear. I see no reason to believe any of it.

There have been numerous interviews in the print and television media with relatives of people on flight 93 who spoke to their loved ones after the plane had been hijacked. You can locate lots of information on this via google's news search feature. Unfortunately, regular googling of anything to do with flight 93 has been so overrun with MIHOP sites that it's impossible to find any of the actual reporting without a huge amount of pain and wasted time.

3. I think "let's roll" came from the phone conversation that Todd
Beamer had with the operator in Chicago. I believe that's what she overheard him say. This was seconds before the passengers began attempting to fight back. It would not be in the official transcript because it almost certainly would not have been captured on the cockpit voice recorder.

Which doesn't diminish the lies told by the current administration, I just don't think this is one of them.

9. They might have attacked the door with a drinks cart;
after all, I wasn't there there to be a witness. It does seem unlikely though. I'd expect someone to kick the door latch instead. It's possible the drinks cart was used to block a knife wielding hijacker. As I noted yesterday, "Let's roll" is used frequently in the Rust Belt to mean "let's get started" and I think derives from railroad or steel mill lingo. People in my family use that phrase a lot, and they worked in both industries over the years.I have no idea if people in other areas of the country use that phrase.

10. I don't
really blame anyone for the misinterpretation of the "Let's Roll"/"Roll it" remark.

I was dubious all along that the passangers even attempted to take the plane, thinking it was just prpaganda. But it is now clear that they did, and that is incredible and surely the most important aspect of the story?

"Let's roll" is Hollywood. "Roll it" is desperate, practical and real. I admire the real one more than the misinterpreted one.

for one thing, you would be hopping from terrestrial cell to terrestrial cell too fast for the network to cope with (assuming normal jetliner speed).... just something else in the official story that stinks.

BTW, I was confirming that your remark was a nonsequitur w/r/t "cell phone" use.

71. A little research
http://www.globalresearch.ca/articles/CHO408B.html

Needless to say, neither the service, nor the "third generation" hardware, nor the "Picco cell" CDMA base station inside the cabin (which so to speak mimics a cell phone communication tower inside the plane) were available on the morning of September 11, 2001.

The 911 Commission points to the clarity and detail of these telephone conversations.

In substance, the Aviation Week report creates yet another embarrassing hitch in the official story.

The untimely July American Airlines / Qualcomm announcement acted as a cold shower. Barely acknowledged in press reports, it confirms that the Bush administration had embroidered the cell phone narrative (similar to what they did with WMDs) and that the 9/11 Commission's account was either flawed or grossly exaggerated.

This may be controversial, but given the circumstances of that day, they may have had very little choice but to shoot the plane down. Of course, they would never admit to it, because of the public outcry it would raise.

None of which diminishes the heroism of the people on that plane - they did everything humanly possible to save their lives, and by extension, the lives of those in the original target.

58. also, Bush kept saying that the passengers crashed the plane

However, the passenger yelling that they had to get into the cockpit or they would die -- that suggests they were trying to take back control of the plane, and did not intend to commit suicide themselves (even to save lives on the ground).

62. "Let's Roll!" and Jessica Lynch killing 15 Iraqis - same myth machine
Team Bush takes the facts that they can use around to build a story, and they build that story.

It's their routine.

69. Let's "rock and roll", it's an old line.
It was shortened to "let's roll". The phrase is just so out there, and has been for quite some time...

It may have been popularized because of its similarity to "lock and load".

I thought that entire thing was a piece of faux journalistic sensationalism.
