Who Saw ABC Evening News Last Night?
So Li'l Scotty demands an apology, huh?

For those who didn't see the broadcast, guess what ABC opened with yesterday. Just guess!

Yep, a complete timeline of the events around that mobile lab "discovery", replete with videotapes of Bush, Cheney, Rice, Rummy, and others, all parroting the line about those "mobile bioweapon labs". They closed with a tape of Cheney on Meet the Press (i think), in which he stated, in clear and unambiguous terms, that those were mobile biolabs. When? FOUR MONTHS AFTER THE INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY AND THE SPECIAL TASK FORCE REFUTED THE FINDINGS! FOUR FREAKIN' MONTHS!

Methinks ABC was none too happy with Scotty's little tantrum, and used their bully pulpit to flip off the administration.

They also stated that it was untrue that anybody at ABC News privately apologized for running the story.

So, it looks to me like "Game Over". They have now gone completely around the bend on their "blame the media" strategy, and it's going to flashback at them. Too many videotapes, too many audio tapes, too many public statements.

It would appear that this one major media company, owned by Disney or not, has had enough!

2. I saw it
Was rather startled to see ABC actually standing up for itself and for the truth instead of knuckling under again to bullying from the White House. Let's hope the report was indicative of a new spirit there, and not an anomaly.

5. That's What I'm Hoping!
My wife and i were practically standing on the couch and cheering. (Ok, not even close to that, but you know what i mean!)

After that childish display by Snotty Scotty The Dissembler, i figured that would be that. But no! Counterattack!

7. But Charlie Gibson apologized first:

The Post did not say that Bush knew what he was saying was false. But ABC News did during a report on "Good Morning America," and McClellan demanded an apology and an on-air retraction. ABC News said later in a clarification on its Web site that Charles Gibson had erred. McClellan said he had received an apology.

10. That's Not What Scotty Asked For
He asked for an organizational apology. Instead, he got counterattacked.

12. Sorry
I misunderstood. And if Charlie wants to apologize for telling the truth, that's on him. I don't think much of that dillweed, anyway.

15. Charlie didn't err, he is a Bush fan big time

I will never forget how he thought GW's joke at that Press dinner about not finding WMD was "soooooo funny!"

That sealed it for me with that man.

8. I saw it
Technically the opened with the "9/11 Trial" My thoughts on that here
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x2566062

But then they did go right into the "caught red handed in the cookie jar" news. That was pretty amazing to see ABC do that. I have been a viewer of their's for a long time and finally had to give up on it. Maybe it was Jennings but I always thought they were pretty down the middle (for MSM anyway).

The other day Stephanopolous reported on possiblly nuking Iran that....

Well read for yourself

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS (ABC NEWS)

(Off-camera) They call it coercive diplomacy, translation, saber rattling. Trying to convince Iran that we're serious. Trying to convince Russia and China that if they want to stop military action, they ought to support sanctions in - in the United Nations. But the most convincing theory to me Elizabeth, is that this is being leaked by military planners who are actually against any kind of a military strike. And they hope by airing it out now, they will kill it.

ELIZABETH VARGAS (ABC NEWS)

(Off-camera) All right. George Stephanopoulos, a provocative theory. Thanks so much.
