Can anyone help me reply to this piece of crap e-mail sent to me?
Edited on Thu Apr-13-06 08:59 AM by CottonBear
The person who sent this to me has no college education and attends a conservative Southern church when not proclaiming that god is mentioned in the Constitution, telling me that we have to support Bush no matter what because we are at war, getting tattos, riding Harleys and wearing motorcycle helmets with a variety of obscene stickers (about oral sex among other topics.) :(
:puke:
This individual has never sent me anything like this before ( and neither has anyone else.) This person is probably part of the 30% who will support Bush no matter what. They are religous but that doesn't stop them from drinking and partying, getting tattos and having lots of boyfriends and sex. (I thought conservative Christians didn't believe in sex unless you are married.)

Article XI should be easy to debunk by citing the actaual fact that god is not mentioned in the connstitution, In God We Trust was addded to coins and money much later in US history (and for purely religous purposes) and citing the Treaty of Tripoli (US not a Christian nation as per George Washington.)

Note how this is "attributed to" someone. That's like Faux News 'some people say" phrase. :(
i suppose reading crap like this is easier for many people than actually studying history and the constitution.

Subject:
NEW PREAMBLE TO THE CONSTITUTION

NEW PREAMBLE TO THE CONSTITUTION

This is probably the best e-mail I've seen in a long, long time. The following has been attributed to State Representative Mitchell Aye from GA. This guy should run for President one day...

"We the sensible people of the United States, in an attempt to help everyone get along, restore some semblance of justice, avoid more riots, keep our nation safe, promote positive behavior, and secure the blessings of debt-free liberty to ourselves and our great-great-great-grandchildren, hereby try one more time to ordain and establish some common sense guidelines for the terminally whiny, guilt ridden, delusional, and other liberal bed-wetters.  We hold these truths to be self evident: that a whole lot of people are confused by the Bill of Rights and are so dim they require a Bill of NON-Rights."

ARTICLE I: You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV, or any other form of wealth. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing anything.

ARTICLE II: You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone -- not just you! You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc.; but the world is full of idiots, and probably always will be.

ARTICLE III: You do not have the right to be free from harm. If you stick a screwdriver in your eye, learn to be more careful, do not expect the tool manufacturer to make you and all your relatives independently wealthy.

ARTICLE IV: You do not have the right to free food and housing. Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need, but we are quickly growing weary of subsidizing generation after generation of professional couch potatoes who
achieve nothing more than the creation of another generation of professional couch potatoes.  (This one is my pet peeve...get an education and go to work....don't expect everyone else to take care of you!)

ARTICLE V: You do not have the right to free health care. That would be nice, but from the looks of public housing, we're just not interested in public health care.

ARTICLE VI: You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim, or kill someone, don't be surprised if the rest of us want to see you fry in the electric chair.

ARTICLE VII: You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob, cheat, or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don't be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won't have the right to a big screen color
TV or a life of leisure.

ARTICLE VIII: You do not have the right to a job. All of us sure want you to have a job, and will gladly help you along in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful.
(AMEN!)

ARTICLE IX: You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to PURSUE happiness, which by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an over abundance of idiotic laws created by those of you who were confused by the Bill of
Rights.

ARTICLE X: This is an English speaking country. We don't care where you are from, English is our language. Learn it or go back to wherever you came from! (lastly....)

ARTICLE XI: You do not have the right to change our country's history or heritage. This country was founded on the belief in one true God. And yet, you are given the freedom to believe in any religion, any faith, or no faith at all; with no fear of persecution. The phrase IN GOD WE TRUST is part of our heritage and history, and if you are uncomfortable with it, TOUGH!

If you agree, share this with a friend. No, you don't have to, and nothing tragic will befall you if you don't. I just think it's about time common sense is allowed to flourish. Sensible people of the United States speak out because if you do not, who will?

I would like to point them towards the facts and the truth but it might be a hopeless effort. Oh well. Thanks for you advice.

8. More RW lying points, like everything else built on lies, distortions and
out right BS. BTW, the history of in "god we trust" came about in the 1950's when amerika was trying to prove they were better then the USSR. Often religious sayings were put on court houses covering up what was originally there and destroying the actually history. People that send stuff like that believe myth is better then truth. They still think honest Abe was forced into the white house and George Washington couldn't tell a lie. Notice the way it states that through education and hard work everyone can get work, yet leaves out the facts that everything is being out sourced so these great jobs they talk about aren't even there regardless of ones education or abilities. For the last 5 years the job sources has only been in the service industry, low pay, no benefits.

10. Let's see
Article V is crap. I think if you did an honest polling of people and presented them with all the facts and not conjecture and 'gloom and doom' crap the majority would support it.

Article XI. Agreed in that you DO NOT GET TO CHANGE ANY OF THE HISTORY. In God We Trust is NOT part of our heritage. It's a mid 1800'sd thing. As to founded on one true God, Virginia was founded as a corporation to make rich British entrepeneurs even richer.

Article IX. Agree wholeheartedly on the Bill of Rights comment. It'd be nice if the reich wing would stop subverting it. I also agree you do not have the right to happiness.

Article XIII: Again I agree. However, it would be nice if the reich wing would stop gutting education aid to people so they could get the training for a new job.

Article IV: Myth and Wedge issue. True, there are some who abuse the system. But, like everything else, they are always the minority.

Article III: I agree completely. The doctor that got 1000000 dollars from that jury for pain and suffering when he found the dealer had painted over a scratch on his car should have gotten squat. But when "Real Harm" is done through negligence by a corporation's neglegence is entitled to have their lost income and medical bills covered. It is true that there are idiotic lawsuits. If you stab yourself in the eye with a screwdriver you should be the object of derision. But, again, his example is a wedge attempt.

Article II: Agree 100%. You do not have the right not to be offended. But that cuts both ways. If I want to criticize their positions they need to stop whining over it.

Subject: Fwd: Air Force One & the Farmer

Air Force One crashed in the middle of rural America. Panic stricken, the Secret Service mobilized and descended on the farm in force. When they got there, the wreckage was clear. The aircraft was totally destroyed, with only a burned hulk left smoldering in a tree line that bordered a farm. Secret Service descended upon the smoking hulk but could find no remains of the crew or the President's staff. To their amazement, a lone farmer was plowing a field not too far away as if nothing at all happened. They hurried over to surround the man's tractor. "Sir," the senior Secret Service agent asked, panting and out of breath. "Did you see this terrible accident happen?" "Yep. Sure did." The man muttered unconcernedly. "Do you realize that is the President of the United States' airplane?" "Yep." "Were there any survivors?" the agent gasped. "Nope. They's all kilt straight out." The farmer sighed cutting of his tractor motor. "I done buried them all myself. Took most of the morning." "The President of the United States is DEAD?" The agent gulped in disbelief. "Yep, he kept a-saying he wasn't ... but you know what a liar he is!"

28. I have found an appropriate reply: one of my favorite quotes:
"A little patience, and we shall see the reign of witches pass over, their spells dissolve, and the people, recovering their true sight, restore their government to its true principles. It is true that in the meantime we are suffering deeply in spirit, and incurring the horrors of a war and long oppressions of enormous public debt. If the game runs sometimes against us at home we must have patience till luck turns, and then we shall have an opportunity of winning back the principles we have lost, for this is a game where principles are at stake."

~From a letter written by Thomas Jefferson in 1798 after the passage of the Sedition Act

Should I send this? I think I would take the moral and intellectual high road with this sort of response.

The worse thing to do to freepers is to make them think. Along those lines:

You can ask if Article VII applies to Ken Lay, Bernie Ebbers, and the other corporate criminals.

If he wants to whine, you can mention Article II.

You can mention that if he has a problem with the country, see Article IX--he can always leave.

You'll probably make the ignore list in no time.

members from two-thirds of the states, and a majority of all the
states shall be necessary to a choice. *(And if the House of

qualify, then the Vice President elect shall act as President
until a President shall have qualified; and the Congress may
by law provide for the case wherein neither a President elect
nor a Vice President elect shall have qualified, declaring who

choose a Vice President whenever the right of choice shall
have devolved upon them.

President more than twice, and no person who has held the
office of President, or acted as President, for more than
two years of a term to which some other person was elected
President shall be elected to the office of the President
more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person
holding the office of President when this article was proposed
by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be
holding the office of President, or acting as President, during
the term within which this Article becomes operative from
holding the office of President or acting as President during
the remainder of such term.

no event more than the least populous State; they shall be in
addition to those appointed by the States, but they shall be
considered, for the purposes of the election of President and
Vice President, to be electors appointed by a State; and they
shall meet in the District and perform such duties as provided
by the twelfth article of amendment.

Section 2. The Congress shall have power to enforce this
article by appropriate legislation.

Amendment XXIV (January 23, 1964)

in any primary or other election for President or Vice President,

or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become
President.

Section 2. Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the
Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President
who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of
both Houses of Congress.

Section 3. Whenever the President transmits to the President
pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of

powers and duties shall be discharged by the Vice President as
Acting President.

Section 4. Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either
the principal officers of the executive departments or of such
other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the

House of Representatives their written declaration that the
President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his
office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers
and duties of the office as Acting President.

Thereafter, when the President transmits to the President pro
tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of
Representatives his written declaration that no inability
exists, he shall resume the powers and duties of his office
unless the Vice President and a majority of either the principal
officers of the executive department or of such other body as
Congress may by law provide, transmit within four days to the
President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House
of Representatives their written declaration that the President
is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office.
Thereupon Congress shall decide the issue, assembling within
forty-eight hours for that purpose if not in session. If the
Congress, within twenty-one days after receipt of the latter
written declaration, or, if Congress is not in session, within
twenty-one days after Congress is required to assemble, determines
by two-thirds vote of both Houses that the President is unable to
discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President
shall continue to discharge the same as Acting President;
otherwise, the President shall resume the powers and duties of
his office.

38. ZINGERS below
ARTICLE I: You do not have the right to a new car, big screen TV, or any other form of wealth. More power to you if you can legally acquire them, but no one is guaranteeing anything.
NO SWEAT. I DO HAVE THE RIGHT TO VOTE AND HAVE IT COUNTED, THOUGH. SO QUIT SCHEMING TO TAKE IT AWAY.

ARTICLE II: You do not have the right to never be offended. This country is based on freedom, and that means freedom for everyone -- not just you! You may leave the room, turn the channel, express a different opinion, etc.; but the world is full of idiots, and probably always will be.
NO OFFENSE TAKEN. IT'S NOW PAINFULLY OBVIOUSLY ANY IDIOT CAN USE EMAIL, TOO.

ARTICLE III: You do not have the right to be free from harm. If you stick a screwdriver in your eye, learn to be more careful, do not expect the tool manufacturer to make you and all your relatives independently wealthy.
GOOD POINT. WHAT IF A THE COMPANY WHO MAKES MY COFFEE CUP USES MATERIALS THAT PRODUCE CARCINOGENS THAT I THEN DRINK? DO THEY HAVE TO BE CAREFUL, TOO, OR JUST ME?

ARTICLE IV: You do not have the right to free food and housing. Americans are the most charitable people to be found, and will gladly help anyone in need, but we are quickly growing weary of subsidizing generation after generation of professional couch potatoes who
achieve nothing more than the creation of another generation of professional couch potatoes. (This one is my pet peeve...get an education and go to work....don't expect everyone else to take care of you!)
WHILE NOBODY EXPECTS FREE FOOD AND HOUSING, I THINK SOME OF US ARE LITTLE CONFUSED HOW THE RICHEST COUNTRY ON EARTH CAN'T FEED AND CLOTHE ITS POOR, PEOPLE WHO CAN'T AFFORD AN EDUCATION OR WHO LIVE IN PLACES WHERE GOOD EDUCATION IS IMPOSSIBLE OR SCHOOLS ARE TOO DANGEROUS TO ATTEND. STILL, IF EDUCATION WERE THE KEY TO PROSPERITY, YOU WOULDN'T BE IN A POSITION TO IGNORANTLY STEREOTYPE THE POOR AS "COUCH POTATOES."

ARTICLE V: You do not have the right to free health care. That would be nice, but from the looks of public housing, we're just not interested in public health care.
AS YOU KNOW, EVERYONE WHO HAS HEALTH CARE PAYS FOR IT ONE WAY OR ANOTHER. WOULDN'T IT BE BETTER TO PAY LESS--OR IS IT POSSIBLE YOUR LACK OF DECENCY OUTWEIGHS EVEN YOUR GREED?

ARTICLE VI: You do not have the right to physically harm other people. If you kidnap, rape, intentionally maim, or kill someone, don't be surprised if the rest of us want to see you fry in the electric chair.
GOT IT. IF I SECRETLY WANT TO DO ALL THOSE THINGS, I'LL SUPPORT THE GOVERNMENT THUG LEADERSHIP WHO CARRY IT OUT ON THE PREMISE OF PROTECTING OUR COUNTRY, WHILE THEY DESTROY THE PRINCIPLES OUR COUNTRY USED TO STAND FOR.

ARTICLE VII: You do not have the right to the possessions of others. If you rob, cheat, or coerce away the goods or services of other citizens, don't be surprised if the rest of us get together and lock you away in a place where you still won't have the right to a big screen color
TV or a life of leisure.
EXCEPTIONS: STEALING OIL, STEALING PRIVACY, STEALING VOTES, LEAKING, TAKING NATIONAL FOREST LAND FOR OIL, ETC ETC ETC

ARTICLE VIII: You do not have the right to a job. All of us sure want you to have a job, and will gladly help you along in hard times, but we expect you to take advantage of the opportunities of education and vocational training laid before you to make yourself useful.
(AMEN!)
AMEN INDEED! I APPRECIATE THE HELP, EXCEPT THAT I ALREADY TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ALL THOSE THINGS, WHICH WAS CAKE BECAUSE I WAS BORN INTO A LIFE OF PRIVILEGE. YET, UNLIKE YOU, I HAVE THIS NAGGING NOTION THAT THE WORLD IS A HELL OF A LOT MORE COMPLICATED THAN YOU THINK IT IS, AND I'M NOT WILLING TO BLAME PEOPLE FOR NOT BEING BORN INTO PRIVILEGE.

ARTICLE IX: You do not have the right to happiness. Being an American means that you have the right to PURSUE happiness, which by the way, is a lot easier if you are unencumbered by an over abundance of idiotic laws created by those of you who were confused by the Bill of
Rights.
RIGHT, LIKE THE PATRIOT ACT. REGARDING HAPPINESS: READ JUNG ON "THE SHADOW," DO SOME FRANK SELF-ASSESSMENT, AND FREE YOUR MIND. HAPPINESS IS EVEN POSSIBLE FOR YOU.

ARTICLE X: This is an English speaking country. We don't care where you are from, English is our language. Learn it or go back to wherever you came from! (lastly....)
I KNOW LEARNING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE CAN BE HARD, BUT I BET EVEN YOU CAN DO IT. BUT THIS MUST BE ONLY AN ENGLISH-SPEAKING COUNTRY, AND THE FOUNDERS OBVIOUSLY WANTED IT THIS WAY WHEN THEY SAID "E PLURIBUS UNUM."

RIGHT, GOD, NO PERSECUTION, GOT IT. MUST ALL BE TRUE. EXCELLENT. E PLURIBUS UNUM. EXCEPT EVEN THE MOST ZEALOT OF THE ZEALOTS BACK THEN KNEW WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF WE MIXED RELIGION AND GOVERNMENT. NOW, NOBODY TRUSTS PROPONENTS OF EITHER.

If you agree, share this with a friend. No, you don't have to, and nothing tragic will befall you if you don't. I just think it's about time common sense is allowed to flourish. Sensible people of the United States speak out because if you do not, who will?
IT IS TIME FOR COMMON SENSE TO FLOURISH. I APPRECIATE YOUR BRAVERY IN ADVOCATING FOR IT, BECAUSE WHEN COMMON SENSE FLOURISHES YOU LIKELY WILL BE OUT OF A JOB, WITHOUT A SPOUSE, POSSESSION-LESS, PARTY-LESS, AND LEFT BABBLING TO YOURSELF IN ONE OF THOSE SOUP LINES YOU DESPISE.

40. This is, these days, mostly about healthcare ("Article V" of the screed)
No, really. I've heard this come up a few times in recent weeks on wingnut radio shows. There's a riff being played; they're trying to convince Joe Stupid that he has no "right to healthcare."

This is their excuse to screw us over, and prevent the long-overdue scrapping of our suck-ass patchwork quilt healthcare delivery system.

The RW knows that the status quo is unmanageable, but they also know that if they tar those who are calling for a single payer plan as "socialists" who are creating "imaginary rights" (Michael Medved recently did a show that was all about what he called "imaginary rights"), they can stave off the inevitable for a couple more years.

59. Feelin' fine. Carter is a big boy.
I had an ultrasound last week because they thought he's bigger than he should be and sure enough he is. I was right at the end of 30 weeks and they were estimating him at being the size of a 33 week baby. He's already at 5lbs. He's a big boy. :) Because of that, I'm more inclined to believe that he's going to be a Memorial Day baby.
