Asked whom they would support today in a rerun of the 2004 presidential election, 39% of registered voters picked Bush, whereas 49% said they preferred the man the president defeated only 17 months ago, Democratic Sen. That's about what Kerry polled in the election. Apparently, Kerry hasn't lost one smidgeon of support. What surprises me is that he hasn't gained anything. If he's going to run in 2008 he's got some work to do. Fortunately there's time and we have a very important event coming up this November. But next year...

Kerry may have gained quite a few Indys and Mod. Republicans since the election. And then he may have lost a few Lefties who are mad at him for losing.

I'm one of the liberals who is not happy with his caving on election night. However, if he gains the nomination again in 2008, I'll be behind him 100%.

I like Kerry, but I think, like Gore in 2000, he got some very bad advice from his campaign managers. He should have swept the election. I can't blame him entirely, but I would hope that he will learn from his mistakes. We need a firebrand to lead the party. Kerry could be that person. So could Gore. So could any number of people.

We'll have to wait and see. I'll be there for whomever gets the nod.

I, too, think he got some bad advice. It's not easy running for president, and I think he'd do far better if he got another chance to. He'd be a great president. But I will vote for whomever gets the nod.
