Does anyone plan to see "Flight93" ?
I don't plan to see it, it still seems like it just happened and I would find it far too upsetting. If I never see the footage of the planes hitting the towers it would be too soon. Jesus what a nightmare this new millenium has been so far.

The movie appears to be a continuation of the propaganda that has empowered BushCo to shred the Constitution and embark on perpetual war.

5. All things considered, no, thanks, but no.
I've had the bloody shirt waved for going on five years now, and that's about enough, to say nothing of how the family and friends of those who were on board must feel about it.

Feh.

8. Not just no, but HELL NO.
My partner died in a commercial plane crash 19 years ago, so no...I'm not going to see a movie about a plane crashing into the ground, even of the circumstances were vastly different.

If I were a family member of a flight 93 passenger, I would be livid that this movie was being made. It's nothing but exploitation.

It's not like you could even learn anything watching Flight 93, because I've said this already:

Nobody knows EXACTLY what happened aboard that plane.

to go to the theater as the movie is letting out, and hand out fliers telling people to google and watch "911 Loose Change"

It plays for free in the google video player, and critical thinking is a lot better than some emotional appeal to nationalism.

35. When Hollywood makes a "historical" movie,
you can be sure they will fark it up. I'm still smouldering about what they did with "The Last Samurai", which would be akin to making a movie about Robert E. Lee, but changing his name to Bernard Smithfield, and having his army based in the state of Springland.

If Michael moore did a Documentary,I would pay to see it. When I first saw Fahenheit 911 I thought it was a farce. A year later,I ended up buying the video and joining the Dems.Al Gore has a movie coming out,May 24thAn Inconvenient Truth
Copyright © 2006 Paramount Classics http://www.apple.com/trailers/paramount_classics/aninconvenienttruth/

Eloquently weaves the science of global warming with Al Gore’s personal history and lifelong commitment to reversing the effects of global climate change. A longtime advocate for the environment, Gore presents a wide array of facts and information in a thoughtful and compelling way. The film is not a story of despair but rather a rallying cry.

38. No. We all lived through 9-11, one way or another.
I don't think anyone wants to re-live any part of it and can't understand why anyone would make the film.

I saw the movie trailer while at the theater to see another film. The theater was packed. At the end of the trailer, you could have heard a pin drop. No one was expecting it, just like no one was expecting 9-11 (well, * and company were,) and it felt like a wave of shock had gone through the theater. My guess? This film will bomb.

41. Emphatically No. Despite the best efforts of BushCo
this is still a free country and movies can be made about any topic. However, I'm a Manhattanite and think its WAY too soon and in really poor taste. Personally, if I never see the footage of the planes crashing into the WTC Towers again it will be too soon, nor do I want to see a movie about Flight #93. Someone is just trying to make a quick, sensationalistic buck, or worse, propagandizing and drumming up red-state "patriotic" fervor for a war against Iran.

Do you suppose they'll have a split screen with the hijack on one side and Bush reading My Pet Goat on the other?

That's what I want to see. I want them to include all the events prior to the hijacking where Bush and the rest of his gang fucked up and allowed it to happen. Then show us what he did while it all went on. And at the end during the credits show him giving his "trifecta" speech.

50. I'll wait for the DVD
I'm not convinced the film maker wanted to make a piece of propaganda. There are plenty of people around for that. So as long as his motive was wanting to illustrate what happened from what he was able to learn, then I don't have a problem with it.

But for me, I think it's just a little too soon and seeing it in the theatre would be too intense for me. I'd rather wait and see it on my much smaller TV so that I can deal with it.

Crazy as this might sound, it might be healthy for this country to see not just one movie about 9/11, but a whole bunch of them. Fictionalized accounts and documentaries alike. It could be cathartic. Something needs to loosen the stranglehold of institutionalized victimhood that has this country in it's death grip. Too soon? I don't think so. Not soon enough, in my opinion.

53. Its release title is "United 93" and no, I'm not going
I keep seein' all this "Never Forget" shit, man, like I'm gonna forget THAT!

Every time Bush decides to do something unspeakable, like starting a war that will kill half a million Iraqis or nuking Iran, he goes on a sustained 9/11 blitz. "Al-Qaeda did this abominable thing to us on 9/11...so in retaliation we're going to run out and kill a LOT of people who had nothing to do with al-Qaeda."

I have a better idea for a movie about 9/11. In most of the screen, you've got footage of an actor playing Bunnypants getting out of bed, putting on his ill-fitting suit, getting into his limo, going to the classroom, reading the goat book, then flying all over the country and finally winding up in Nebraska. In the upper-right corner, you've got footage of the planes hitting the towers, of them hitting the Pentagon, of 93 crashing in Pennsylvania, of the towers collapsing, of people plunging to their deaths...all synchronized to Bush's actions at the time.
