1. I think you WAY oversimplify this by not placing it in context

I haven't clicked on the link you supplied because I saw the show. I don't normally watch SP regularly, but I watched Part I of this last week because I was intrigued by the "Family Guy" angle.

I fear you're going to get lots of people logging in just to flame and spout nationalistic/jingoist hate againt Parker and Trey, without any knowledge of what led up to this in the episode. The scene you mention in your sub line sounds "shocking" (can anything be considered shocking on SP anymore?) but I think it was a clever way to draw attention to the extreme hypocrisy displayed by Comedy Central (if in fact the censorship of Mohammed is true) and the media in general.

I hope DUers who haven't seen the episode will refrain from freaking out until they've viewed the entire half hour and have a better understanding of what led to this closing scene. Besides, the image of Bush having to lecture the press about this strange "First Amendment" thing they'd never heard of is so drenched in irony, it was an odd treat all by itself.

3. Watched it last night. It was a funny cartoon, done in two
segments. Bet the fundies and the right wingers will be upset with this one!

Was it meant to be is the question? I say YES Sir!

5. The line in this story about Christ, Bush, flag is INACCURATE!
"It is followed shortly by the images of Christ, Bush and the flag."

These images were part of a film, made by Middle Eastern Muslims (according to the episode) to protest the image of Mohammed in the Family Guy. Everyone in America (in the episode) was expecting the Muslims to bomb us or attack us in some way (because of the cartoon Mohammed image), and all they did was create a film featuring Americans showing off their money, and Bush and Jesus pooping everywhere.

I laughed so hard I almost peed my pants. This AP story makes it sound like the images were just thrown in there to piss off Christians or something.

This two-part South Park was BRILLIANT! Especially the part about the manatees, who supposedly "write" the Family Guy (by pulling "idea balls" out of a tank and placing them in an order that can be used as a script) The manatees refused to work if just ONE idea ball is removed from the tank. It showed that if even ONE idea for satire is taken out of play, they all should be taken out. Either all ideas are fair game, or none are.
