Human x killed Human y
A little background. Human x joined the militia. In return the militia promissed shelter, food, money, and a gun. Human y and Human y's family had a dry cleaning business. Human x's superior was given orders to ship Human x to a foreign land to kill what Human x's superior called "the enemy". In the bombing raid over Human y's town, a bomb landed on the dry cleaning business killing Human y and the entire family.

I have been instructed to support Human x because I was born 3 thousand miles from where Human x was born and Human x and I speak the same language.

I have also been instructed to not feel sympathy for Human y.

Support Human x.

2. Listen to Your Ordained Master, the State
War is the Health of the State. In order to keep it's minions and thralls in line the State must sacrifice some and keep the rest in perpetual confusion and fear.

The State hath Spoken, so let it be done...

4. Yep
You are also instructed to believe, against all evidence, that such death and violence rained down upon Human y is redemptive, and makes Human x and indeed Human x's entire country better.

Support Human x because Human y's relatives and survivors may not be quite as reasonable as we are.

5. I have a question...
Why would Human y's family be running a dry cleaner in the middle of a war?

11. Perhaps ...

...a better use of Mr. y's time might be in moving his family out of harm's way... (and why, btw, is he not in the army there defending his family and/or his country? That might keep his family alive, too.)

As simple as you're trying to make this scenario, it really IS more complicated than that.

17. I think it's clear who they're talking about

You can't always move 'out of harms way'. That's a social Darwinist argument.

You can't move out of 'harms way' when there's a bomb headed toward you. Is that what you would say to the victims in Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

19. WAS the bomb in the OP a nuclear bomb?
I responded to the few facts in the hypothetical scenario the OP offered. If YOU are going to change the facts, there is a possibility my answer would change, as well.

Try a little peroxide or bleach--and I think they have some enzyme cleaners that'll do it even better, esp. for non-white clothes.
