Nature provides a metaphor
Yesterday, as I arrived home at my little suburban 1/4 acre, I saw two doves fiercely fighting in my yard. It was a mighty battle with feathers flying, and ultimately one of them lost. When my husband came home from work a few hours later he found a hawk picking at the carcass of the loser.

Now, if I was so inclined, I would see this as a sure sign of the apocalypse. But not being of that persuasion, I see it as a tragic metaphor for politics in this country.

Don't know about the rest of you DUers, but I have pretty much reached information overload. Not sleeping well, getting snappish, wishing the responsibility for saving the country didn't fall to us, yearning to return to my regularly scheduled life.

Just some random thoughts for the day.

Terry

2. Thanks so much for the compliment
I just completed it a few weeks ago, so it still has that new website smell, I think.

5. The Circle of Life
to quote The Lion King. The fight settled something and took out the weaker, keeping the species strong. The carrion eater made good use of the food source and eventually it will all come back to the earth. Just like we will.

Whether you believe in God or not, you can believe in the life cycle, and it is a satisfying thing.
