http://www.al.com/opinion/huntsvilletimes/dperson.ssf?/base/opinion/11450062403130.xml&coll=1My idea for a new television show is "White Guys Behaving Badly."It won't feature pranks or tricks, as other shows in the "behaving badly" genre such as "Girls Behaving Badly" or "Men Behaving Badly." Instead, we'll just turn on the mikes and cameras and let our boys do what they do best: Say stupid, reprehensible stuff.
But wait. The critics are screaming that making a show that singles out white men is racist.
Wrong. I'm not talking about all white guys or even most. Specifically, I'm talking about three: Rush Limbaugh, Neil Boortz and Dave Lenihan.
These three, all white and guys, have been severely misbehaving on their radio shows. All three recently have said brazenly derogatory things about three black women - the unidentified young woman who has accused members of the Duke University lacrosse team of rape; Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney of Georgia; and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. And after listening to the ease with which they made their comments, it makes me wonder if they realize that this is 2006 and not 1946.
Hence, my show title: "White Guys Behaving Badly." Granted, white guys aren't the only ones who have denigrated black women. More than a few rappers, though not all, have made millions calling black women the B- and H-words.

Read the whole thing. Kudos to Mr. Persons, this was top, front and center of the editorial page in today's Huntsville Times... And Kudos to the Times for putting it there.
