Ancient Coptic Scrolls Reveal the True Origins of the Easter Bunny

Sussex England AP: Discovered in a sealed urn near the Red Sea in 1956, these scrolls have finally been translated by scholars and antiquarians from across the globe. The news revealed has stunned both religious and historical scholars.

The rights to the public release of the scrolls have been obtained by The National Geographic Society who plans to release them Easter, 2007. The Vatican is fighting the release on grounds of copyright infringement.

National Geographic's Dr. Geoffrey Barrister would not comment on the legal proceedings or offer text did tell us "It is an amazing text that tells us of a rabbit that stood two meters in height and dressed in gay colours with ribbons and a basket filled with candies in the shape of eggs, rabbits and baby chicks approached Mary and many of the mourning Disciples and made gifts of these treats to try and cheer them.

"The Lepus Giganticus (big rabbit) then suggested a game. He told them all that the remaining treats would be hidden that night while they slept and the one that acquired the most treats would be God's most favored for a fortnight."

What kind of a child was this rabbit? How do we know he wasn't just co-opted from the pagans? They like rabbits.
