I saw Regular Unleaded for $3.03 in South Texas yesterday

At the intersection of FM 1295 and FM 1303, at an Exxon station/mom-pop store Unleaded was $3.03. This is about (12 miles East of Benavides, TX. According to Wikipedia, this is officially the "middle of no where". (Just kidding, but it should be.)

Was going ot post this last night after I got back and forgot. Far as I know, this is the the most expensive gas in S Texas. Everything else, especially on more heavily traveled routes is about $2.69 on average. However, I bought gas Wednesday in Driscoll where the sign said $2.67, but the pump (and the receipt) said $2.54. Either someone screwed up, or they were screwing their competetion.

3. Here in Austin it's jumped dramatically.

I think we'll hit $3 by June. $2.38 10 days ago (I think), now $2.69.
