Rumsfeld Shrugs Off Calls for Resignation
I spy, with my little eye:

By SALLY BUZBEE, Associated Press Writer

Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld shrugged off calls for his resignation in an interview aired on Arab television Friday, saying there are thousands of generals and that differences of opinion were to be expected.

Several retired military commanders have recently made statements urging Rumsfeld's ouster. They argue that the planning for the war in Iraq was not sufficient and that Rumsfeld's management style has too often given short shrift to the views of uniformed officers.

Asked about the retired military leaders that have called for him to go, Rumsfeld said there were between 3,000 and 6,000 retired and active generals.

"I respect their (the generals') views but, obviously, if out of thousands and thousands of admirals and generals, if every time two or three people disagreed we changed the secretary of defense of the United States, it would be like a merry-go-round," Rumsfeld told Al-Arabiya television.

1. He doesn't care what any one thinks because there is no
real accountability any more.

This is a problem. I can't believe I can't believe we let it get to this point.

3. I am more nervous now than ever.
It's like the bats have completely left the bell tower. I say we cart him off to the Hague.

4. Yeah that's it... ignore the military advisors
and go with the plans made by the guy who has never worn a uniform and never fought in a war. He's the one we should be listening to :eyes:

5. isn't it the BEST possible thing for dems that he stays right where
he is?

I was very sad to see DeLay back out, and fervently hope Katherine Harris stays the course as well

what could be better than have such easy targets out there?

do they ever do polls on Rumsfeld's job approval ratings? I don't see how he can be a plus for the junta

Keep on keepin' on Rumster!

who's the boss now?

6. I am personally a little afraid of Rumsfeld.
He's helped get us into this mess and yet brushes aside high-level criticism as being part of the job. No plan going in or out of Iraq and hundreds of thousands of lives later and for what? It's so disgustingly sad.

7. Who could have guessed what these two men
would end up doing to this country? I think this photo was taken of Rumsfailed and Cheney during the Ford administration, where they really got a taste for unbridled power.

There's another photo of the two of them. They're sitting together in President Ford's office. They're looking at each other, and their eyes are glittering. They look like they're sharing a secret; they look just like Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum

My blood ran cold when I saw that photo, because we know they are both toally evil..
