Ketchum Police and Department of Homeland Security officials say Transportation Security Administration screener Robert Joe Harrison, Jr., 49, betrayed the public's trust by kidnapping a 10-year-old boy Monday.
Police say the incident did not happen on school grounds. They say the boy was walking home from Ernest Hemingway Elementary when Harrison allegedly got him to get into his truck.
Court documents state the boy asked Harrison to drive him to his house, but Harrison passed the boy's street and drove to his apartment complex where he attempted to persuade the boy to come inside and watch a movie.
Investigators found different birth dates and social security numbers associated with Harrison and say his true identity is in question.
Police fed his information into a national data base with the Center For Missing and Exploited Children, and authorities say he could possibly be linked to other activities but declined to comment further.
