I have decided to craft a new Declaration of Independence. I do not wish to appear arrogant in consigning the job to myself but someone has to do it. Our current ties to King George II (George W. Bush) have become intollerable. Here it goes: When in the course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to disolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the Earth, the seperate and equal station to which the laws of nature, and nature's God, entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the seperation. We hold these truths to be self evident, that all people are created equal, they they are endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and Honest Discourse. That when a government uses its power in a method of distruction the people have a right and a sacred duty to dissolve their ties. The history of the current President of the United States is one of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having the direct object of instituting absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let the facts be submitted to a candid world: He has refused his assent to laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good. He has looted our economic gains and transformed ours from a surplus society to an indebted one. He has made a mockery of his duties by vacationing more in his first year in office than any president in history He has made us vulnerable to attack by ignoring warnings from his intellegence community about domestic attacks. He has inhibited the Civil Liberties of citizens of the United States. He has sullied the good name of our government by appointing more convicted criminals to his administration than any president in history. He has circumvented our Constitution more grossly than any other previous president. He has allowed corporate corruption to run rampant. He has only benefitted his own class of upperclass and hurt average Americans as a result. He has lowered taxes in a time of war, causing hardship. He has disgraced our people by being the first president in U.S. history to have the U.N. remove us from their human rights and election monitoring boards. He has constrained our people by taking the largest outpouring of world sympathy after September 11th and turning into the highest amount of resentment for the U.S. in history. He has waged cruel war in another part of the world for false reasons. He has made the United States a more dangerous place to live. He has usurped power, become tyranical and abolished liberties. At every stage of these oppressions we have petitioned for redress only to be met by more injury. A prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people. We, therefore, the citizens of the United States to hereby declare that these United States are, and of a right ought to be, free and independent from the rule of King George II (George W. Bush) and that all political ties are, and ought to be, totally dissolved. And, for the support of this declaration, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.
