Hey, Howard Dean! Hey, Russ Feingold! Read this.....Dem slogan!
This was an idea from another thread. OneBlueSky put it forward. I thought it deserved a thread of its own.

New Democratic slogan for the next elections: Vote Democratic for: "Government of the people, by the people, and for the people". Sound familiar? Sure.....it's from the Gettysburg Address of Lincoln. This is an idea that is basic, and essential, in a democracy. We have lost it to a great extent. The Corporations have taken over from "the people". We need to take this concept and dust it off and use it again. It's catchy. Most people know it. (It even came from a Republican, etc. but it is more American than party related.) What DU you all think?

Shortened for bumper stickers, etc.: "of the people, by the people, and for the people".

Much more powerful than "we can do better" imho.

5. but many people still want more bush!
the 'gov of, by, for the people' speech connects the present to the civil war drama...and the same bad guys are still at work! There's a 'too cute for their own good' aspect of 'had enough...' etc.....the repukes sure would love that, and would be horrified if Abe's words were used on them!
strange anyone doesn't see this....

7. These gentlemen are two Dem leaders I respect. I imagine
the names would be different for other individuals. I am hoping to attract the attention of Dems in leadership positions. I'm sure I could have done it better.
