Bonds threatens to quit if bone chips worsen
I find this interesting. I wonder if Barry is setting up a clean exit from baseball? If he ended up breaking Aaron's home run record it creates lots of problems because of the steroid allegations. Lots of political fallout on this issue with George Mitchell looking into the MLB performance enhancing drug problem.

Bonds threatens to quit if bone chips worsen

The problems continue to pile on for Giants outfielder Barry Bonds. The latest setback for the
embattled slugger is bone chips in his left elbow.

Bonds told MLB.com that he has "10 to 12 bone chips floating" in his left elbow, which he revealed is swollen to "almost twice the size" of his other elbow.
"I'm going to keep playing until it blows up," Bonds told MLB.com. "If I have to have a procedure, then I'm done. Finished. That would be it."

This health issue came just a day after it was revealed that a federal grand jury is investigating whether Bonds committed perjury when he testified in 2003 that he never used steroids.

Bonds said he felt his elbow pop during a spring training batting practice session in March. He underwent an MRI and was examined at the time by Dr. Ken Akizuki, the Giants orthopedic surgeon, and Dr. Lewis Yocum, the Giants' and Angels' orthopedic specialist, who oversaw Bonds' recovery from last year's three surgeries on his right knee. The Giants said Bonds was diagnosed with inflammation in the elbow, and Bonds missed about a week of action.

the man is a complete asshole that does nothing for the game of baseball. he could have been one of the best baseball players ever, even the best but his drug use negates any of this. to bad he chose to use drugs

2. Boo, hoo..hoo...so long loser....
He is bad for the game....what I don't understand is that he was already a great hitter before getting on the roids.....why did he have to turn to the juice?......he is tainted....and even if he did reach the record he would have a huge asterik by his name...:nopity:

3. Won't solve his legal woes..
and might make them worse. If he's not actively playing the sport, he won't get much financial backing (or are they throwing him under the bus?)

4. Over The Last 10 Years
I have lost interest in Baseball, because of it's tolerance for monopolies. Yes, yes, the Red Sox finally won a couple years ago, but still... the league is lopsided and has been compromised by the epidemic of inhancement drugs. People like rewarding merit, not cheaters who take performance drugs.
